I wonder who is taking care of the woman who is putting the needs of her husband and children before her own well-being? It’s always women that have to pick up the pieces, or keep the show on the road. I hope someone is looking out for her.

The Sun story very specifically said she didn’t ask for money, it did not say that she wasn’t paid.

Considering the seemingly sketchy of evidence that the sun had to publish the allegations they did, I would imagine they paid her to muddy her legal claims if she goes after them for manipulating her.

I can accept that first part, I guess it doesn’t mean she deffo wasn’t paid then… and we are likely to never know that truthfully… but from the start, I’ve always thought the sun didn’t give any evidence due to the nature and the fact the mother probably knew the son didn’t want it out there as so she was trying to get Huw done whilst still protect her child as much as possible?! In saying that, if I were the sun now, after what’s been said today, I’d be furious and pushing to get out some evidence and prove myself… we will soon see if they will do this I guess

For any of those saying that Huw is completely innocent and there is no proof of anything. The BBC themselves reported that a young man had received threatening messages from him and they had verified that these messages had come from Huw Edwards.

Almost like this is the position they should have taken when they realised that the parents never handed over the evidence and that the allegations of the person being 17 were new

There’s need to be some distinguishing going on between a child and late teen here, IMO. Everyone saying Huw was targeting children…well to me a child is up to the age of 12. It conjures really sinister imagery. I am NOT saying what he did was in any way appropriate or acceptable because it wasn’t. But 17 is not a child. I’m sorry but it isn’t.

Legally you’re a child until 18. But I do see where you’re coming from it’s quite a sketchy area from I’d say 16. At 16 you can have sex, join the army and are classed as an adult from a buying a ticket to something point of view.

For those of you that are very against HE, calling him a pedalo, n and accusing him of using his mental health as an excuse to evade the public, can I ask why exactly you think that.

Is it because he’s an older bloke that’s got an interest in younger people? I agree it’s gross but If he hasn’t done anything illegal then it’s hardly a problem, again, I wouldn’t like my 17 year old hooking up with someone his grandads age, but the reality is, if he wanted to there’d be nothing I’d be able to do stop him, so then I’m just left with educating as best as possible and hoping for the best

Is it because you feel sorry for his wife and family?
Is it because past scandals are influencing your opinions on what might have gone or been covered up?



I’m genuinely interested, none of these are reasons to make an actual human being be a victim of hurtful opinions, are they?

As I said, age, gross, but if nothing illegal has happened is it fair to throw stones? Because I can guarantee anyone that has ever or will ever walk this Earth has done something that is morally wrong, hell, when I was the age 15-18 I was nicking baby milk, nappy’s, baby clothes for my kid, because all I had to survive on was £18.10 child benefit a week. Context is totally different, but that was very illegal, are you all going to knock me down for it though. I’m genuinely interested to know.

This!!! Please people, I have suffered terribly from depression and PTSD for many years. Before and since I got ill, I didn’t find children attractive. I have worked with children throughout my adult life. Many vulnerable children. I have never tried to abuse anyone, mentally or physically. Because I am not a bleeping monster.

Yep I've been assaulted in my line of work. Some people will use I'm depressed as an excuse, I have mental illness. Luckily the courts don't accept this , I have pressed charges against people with capacity. It's so different , some people do try to use mental illness as an excuse for harming others. The ones who actually are really poorly get no sympathy it's they are a monster etc.

I will never hold it against someone if they assault me and truly lack capacity, I correct them but if they do have capacity I go full force and press charges . I'm sick of people trying to use mental health as an excuse for crappy behaviour.

That’s exactly what I mean, you’ve just expressed it better than me legally u18 is classed as a child but there’s so many things you can do age 16 and 17 that are technically adult so it’s just such a bizarre line to me.

His "mental health" did not stop him from earning half a million quid last year or getting all the kudos from the royals news in the last 12 monthsthis year but the minute its negative news about him where he can be blamed .. IT ALL KICKS IN... aye right

People with mental health issues can function and go through spells where they are ok and then have a relapse. My husband had anxiety years ago then was fine for ages. This year he had a really bad breakdown so go say 'oh he was working and seemed fine' is a little shortsighted. Look at Lewis capaldi. He's earned millions the last few months but has still had to take a break as things were getting in top of him. The pressure and scrutiny of the last few days would affect anyone. Nevermind someone with a history of depression.

The S*um is now claiming that it never "alleged criminality" in its stories - despite the fact it clearly said that [Huw Edwards] had explicit photos of a person under 18, which is a criminal offence - as is supplying the photo even if the photo is of you.
