Barry Keoghan

Maybe it's because I'm irish and know a bit more about him (not on a personal level, but a local celebrity level) but the way Barry and his relationships are being portrayed is really interesting to me! From my knowledge he had split from the mother of the child a good bit before Saltburn was released. They weren't long together either, a year or so I think, before she became pregnant. He used to constantly post about the baby, and as someone asked above yes his bio always had BRANDO in it! I just think it's really interesting how he's being portrayed as this deadbeat dad when in reality he did seem to be around a good bit and also I think enough time passed before he started seeing Sabrina. I wonder if now he is more so in the wider public eye he posts the child less?

I also do wonder in general how it works for families who's parent is an actor. The mother of his child knew he was an actor before Brando came along, Saltburn wasn't his first acting gig. I wonder is a discussion had about "if things take off for me I may not be around as much"?

Again, I don't know him at all on a personal level and maybe he is the worlds most absent father, but I think I just feel a bit protective/proud of Barry as a fellow Dub 😂
 
Barry is never going to last long term with someone like Sabrina. The only thing they have in common is their skin colour. From a cultural perspective Barry may as well be from the moon. Dublin working class have a certain type of humour, fast wit and sarcasm. It does not translate to Americans at all. Similar humour would be found in places like Manchester or east end london. In fact i can't really think of any working class Irish or british actors who've lasted the distance with American starlet types. Racking my brain here trying to think of any. There's probably loads I'm forgetting 🤣
