If SF is the right person then he has some serious audacity making threats about legal action.

If he had done nothing wrong then it would be very easy to say 'I am categorically not the person portrayed in the series' yet he hasn't? That doesn't seem like an innocent man to me.

As we already know it's so so hard to prove historic sexual abuse and I think the ginger twit knows that and so feels like he can get away with the threats.

I hope, if indeed it is him. That it encourages other victims to find the strength to speak up about him too and go to the police. I truly hope for that. If he did it to Richard he's probably done it to others and should be held accountable. My heart goes out to any SA victim, I can't imagine what their dark days must feel and look like. And so I hope alot of good also comes from Baby reindeer. There isn't a place in society for people like Darrien to be walking around and not being held accountable. His victims need a voice and justice.

See this is the part that makes this so compelling to me. In the show he comes across as SUCH a complex person. Which then makes me wonder how much of it was ‘made up’.

I’ve made a couple of comments already about how much has possibly been added, removed or changed in the service of making the tv show hang together better, but it feels like a fairly significant manipulation to present the pub as a very quiet, almost empty, nondescript place if in truth it was actually the Hawley Arms!

That’s not to suggest that RG in any way ‘deserved’ anything that happened to him, but it does imply that he was enjoying a much more hedonistic lifestyle than the show is prepared to admit to. And I get why they’d do that - the quiet guy leading a quiet life is a much more sympathetic character than one who is hanging out with celebrities in a drug-fuelled den of iniquity every night while he chases his own break into fame, but it’s a definite manipulation.

And seemingly ‘Martha’ was fairly enmeshed in it all too, knowing the rest of the staff too, and the manager. So not just some random who sat at the bar on her own every day.

(this is assuming, of course, that FH is telling the truth on this point, which isn’t guaranteed 🤷‍♀️)

Just to add, I can well imagine being threatened with legal action from SF would be intimidating for Richard.

Completely different situation but I left a (entirely true, reasonable but damning) review on the Google review page of a solicitor I used, mentioning the incompetence and things she failed to do which fucked up the case. Family court proceedings with an ex.

I very quickly got an email from her representative, an absolute rottweiler, threatening me with legal action if I didn't remove it. It put the wind up me. I don't have the endless resources and £££ that she/they have to sue. Even if I know I'm right and they're wrong.

I do feel for Richard at the minute and understand why he's asking people to back off.

She played an absolute blinder! It was like six different characters in one

I'm so glad this has helped you, and I hope it's helped even more knowing someone knows and is there for you <3

I had a situation 20 years ago, and although it was dealt with at the time and I had counselling when it happened, it's opened up a whole can of worms for me and I'm thinking of looking for someone to talk to professionally - does anyone know where is best to go that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? I would go through the NHS route but as it's something that happened years ago I'd rather leave that space for someone who needs it now xx

I’d also recommend searching for rape and sexual assault counselling centres in your area. They often offer free counselling (donations welcome) and also have telephone provision and group services too. I have been on a waiting list for counselling with my local centre for 8 months now and when I referred, it was a 16 month list. I have used NHS based therapy before but it was only six sessions and so not very helpful. Private counselling is pricey and isn’t something I could afford right now as almost all I had spoken to recommend weekly sessions.

legal troubles or mistaken identity?

‘I’m not saying you are right or wrong’
This is very messy. The continued lack of denial from both of them says a lot. If SF is threatening legal action, that might force RG into having to report the abuse.

I just read that thread on his Instagram and it’s an absolute non-story. Have no idea point he was trying to get across? That his therapist diagnosed Gadd with BPD without even knowing him?
Non-story is exactly what I thought. He got rejected after an audition and a date and is trying to turn it into a scandal.

Yeah, I was astonished when I came out that it was the Hawley Arms! The TV series gives the impression it was some dead end old man pub, not one of the most well known pubs in bloody Camden 🤣🤣

I'm a few pages behind on this thread and her Facebook but see she's gone absolutely nuclear, just when we thought this couldn't get any more nuts.
This made me chuckle: "Richard gadd who is not known to
Me wrote a show four or five years ago for the festival fringe called baby reindeer it would appear to be popular on Netflix now among twenty something's with no brain"
