I’m getting arrogant vibes. I imagine he’s very good at playing the stupid/naive/wouldn’t hurt a fly card when actually he’s pretty calculating and knows exactly what he’s doing. But that’s not to take away from him being a survivor and having a right to tell his story. If that makes sense?

I honestly think Richard Gadd is a bit of a fame hungry arse. I think he came across as quite unlikeable in the show. Don’t get me wrong, what he went through was horrendous, but to say he changed the character or Martha so much that she wouldn’t even recognise herself, when he blatantly didn’t, was a bit of a dick move. It was obvious the internet would find her so why lie just so he could take the moral high ground and make it appear as though he’s empathetic to her issues and is trying to protect her identity.
He knew what he was doing with Baby Reindeer and he absolutely knew how the public would react. Nobody is that naive to think it wouldn’t have any kind of backlash

See this is the part that makes this so compelling to me. In the show he comes across as SUCH a complex person. Which then makes me wonder how much of it was ‘made up’.
Going by the ‘character’ he has absolutely zero self confidence, which makes me think he never expected the series to explode the way it has. But is the ‘real’ Gadd actually like that? Who knows. Could it all just be his revenge?
Either way, it’s bleeping fascinating 😂😂
