@Sh1tRollsDownHill we are not putting up a tree and haven't for the past three years I love Christmas but can't be doing with all the crap that goes with it as well as the moggies. We will have a Christmas Lunch and that is about as much as we put into the day we see no family and we have no need for presents that we don't need so we might have a token gift but that's about it. Christmas is all about the children and as you get older you can't be bothered with all the work involved it is only another fancy Sunday lunch omo. I think it is part of missing the children as we aren't around children anymore, I loved Christmas when I was surrounded by children my own as well as others.
Hope all who celebrate have a wonderful time and spoilt with memories.

Definitely, little ones make Christmas and memories.
I have an abundance of nieces and nephews but they're either teens who don't want the fuss now or they live away. We always say we're happy to enjoy the peace and quiet with an over the top roast and an old film. I do miss the mayhem though.
I'm secretly waiting patiently for grandchildren 🤫 luckily I can be very patient as mine aren't ready to procreate anytime soon.
A couple near our street, have no family or visitors at all, they're in their 50s and miserable all year round but always have their windows and front of the house lit up like Santa's grotto by the end of November. They add new lights every year. She's always nagging him to get the lights up perfectly 😂 I don't think they actually like each other or Christmas but they try to outdo the neighbours! People fascinate me.

Ooh we have little ones that are the perfect age for Christmas so we've gone all out with the elf let the kids loose with the free and let them decorate the Windows with Christmas stickers. Santa came down the road for charity and their little faces
 
I love hearing about how people celebrate or don’t! We’ve done both and loved it either way. when ours were younger we used to go to Disney in Paris every Christmas. The children got to choose presents or Disney and Disney always one. Now they all have their own children we get together for a family fakemas ( next weekend) so they can do as they please on Christmas Day. We have one child and their children staying for Christmas which will be lovely but why do adult children resort to be teens and do bugger all when they come home?! New year is spent just us with a dirty kebab and rubbish on tv!! ILYH XX
 
Christmas is so different now the kids are older. Kinda makes me a bit sad, funny when I have friends ask if we are going to have anymore, first of all we are 40 and 47, we have teens now so it’s a big no but equally why are people nosey?!
I have a friend who’s always on at me about being broody….i think she asks as she has little ones.
Our decs are up, but we don’t get the excitement like when the kids were little.
What excited my husband is winding up my mum…..my mum is a carnage lady and had a very high opinion of herself and is a huge snob, one way to wind her up is to buy lights every year and chuck them outside our house, the kids on the street love it. This year Mr Curly bought and inflatable Santa with reindeer that sits on the porch it’s hysterical! His aim is to get more then raise for a charity very close to our heart, course my mum said to his face it was Chavvy, it’s just fun and the kids love it! Hope you are all keeping safe!

I think everything is worse at night, all is quiet and the fact that folk are asleep and I am not, your mind races all over the place to places you haven’t even thought of, then you worry about getting through the day tired, I usually put on an audiobook or go to computer to watch something hat usually relaxes me to go back to sleep, I have a headband wireless connected to iPad for my books or get up and go into another room to computer, some night I just go to bathroom then go straight back to bed. It is a busy time of year for folk especially with having young children try not to worry easier sai than done but usually hens about at all times of the day or night. No we are slowly getting the kids in their own room but they still want him with them. I did my hair is pink and it's a wonderful life was amazing.
The elf wrapped up the kids shoes and they saw they had a present and got happy until they opened it 😂

A busy time of year for everyone especially with little ones enjoy it hens making memories.
I see SWMNBN has gone quiet again it is for Christmas, Deep Grief or new arrival? If new arrival I hope all went well and both are in good health, still a bleep though.
Same old this end nurses into us both now I have had a hick up but all good still plodding.

Just popping in to say hello. Not been commenting much, just a few likes here and there.
Truly hope you are all as good as you can be.
Husband is unwell and I know I moan every year about the heat in summer but the cold right now is something else. Getting old I guess.
Sorry for not checking in but it's been a nightmare and the sadness has been overwhelming, I thought it was just the shock initially but it creeps up on you when you don't expect it.

well i only get to go to one, I'm going to have the worse guilt next Wednesday annoyingly I swapped my day off to a work day and now it means I can't go to youngest play
