Hi lovely nusties, I've come for a ramble. Sorry to read some of you are going through tough times with losses or bad health at the moment, lovely to see that others are doing well in life with new jobs and happy stories. I'm at a bit of a crossroads at the minute but nothing I will worry too much about until the new year is in. Put the tree up today, it's old but looks lovely with a range of old and new decorations and the handmade kids decorations that go back 20 years which are starting to smell a bit musty now so I'll have to store them better in future to preserve them. Now want to take it down though, bored of it already
sat here thinking why do we need to put a tree up to celebrate Christmas, which I'm looking forward to by the way, I'm not a scrooge just get fed up with all the tat that goes with it. Every year I put less and less up and have put bits that I'm not interested in anymore to one side to pass on to others. Would feel weird not having a tree up altogether but one year I'm going to try it and see if it makes any difference to our Christmas.
One year, when the kids were toddlers of about 6 and 7 we used all the outdoor lights inside the house. Giant santa, snowmen and star LEDs covering the living room walls, it looked hideous but they LOVED IT!
Mine have all flown the nest now so I don't feel the pressure I put on myself of getting everything perfect for them anymore.
Hope Christmas isn't too daunting for some of you, it comes and goes but can drag on if you're not feeling it and to all of you who are loving every bit of the festivities so far, have a wonderful time.
Have just seen the Christmas card released from the King and Queen, not festive one bit, taken in the garden on a hot summers day by the looks of it. Lovely photo and don't expect them to have Mr and Mrs Santa outfits on but they could have at least be sat in front of a sparkling tree. Maybe they're not Christmas people
