Annoying things your work colleagues do all the time? #7

What you said wasn't a work appropriate manner? 🤯

Oh, I have to be so bloody temperate in my emails. No cursing, no (obvious) sarcasm, no telling anybody that they clearly have the intellectual capacity of a bunch of bleeping wilted celery and it's a mystery to all of us how they managed to convince the hiring manager at the time that they were actually something approximating a functional human being.

I do get congratulated on my workplace diplomacy, amazingly enough.

This same guy who has asked me for the exact same document FOUR times. I already told him three times I don't have access to that document. Maybe he thinks if he keeps asking every week something will magically change???
I attached the three previous emails where he asked me and I said I can't access it.
Anyone want to bet he'll ask me again next week while I'm out for the holidays?
Sounds like he is like an ex of mine who had a personality disorder.

He would ask me the same things on repetition for years which is designed to drive you mad with frustration by 50th time that day!

I will say please stop saying it now I don't need constant same questions and conversations I've told you! 😠

To which he will reply "what"

Making me question my sanity😩

I am not a big AI user, but I find it very helpful for rewording/formatting my work emails (not the confidential parts obv) to sound professional and friendly, and not like I want to bang people's heads against the nearest wall.

We don't have supervisors or team leaders at work, it's just us and the managers. But one woman has taken it upon herself that she's our supervisor  and keeps pointing out what we've done wrong, running to the managers, or posting messages on WhatsApp about petty miniscule things that we should have done and it's really rubbing me (and I'm sure others) up the wrong way, she's no more qualified or better than the rest of us and one of the least experienced. Just through sheer arrogance and self importance, she see's herself as a higher up. What makes it more annoying is she's not perfect herself and does the same things she complains about and worse herself. But she gets so moody or upset if she's told she's not done something right, it's not worth the aggravation of telling her, but she keeps on moaning about other people. It's really pisssing me off and stressing me out.

She's crawled right up the managers arses too, I don't even know if they'd do anything if it was brought up to them, plus I don't want to be like her telling tales to the boss. So I'm just quietly observing the situation staying civil with her, feels like that's all I can do

Ugh how irritating 🙄
I've worked with people like that.

I would complain but that's just me I know that not everyone feels they can.
When she tells you off say "you're not my supervisor" loudly and keep saying it to her.

Some of the most garbled shite that comes through must be from AI.

Bloody hate it - and my writing is one of the skills that keeps me in employment, so I'm not hugely keen on being replaced because people decide they don't have to learn to read, write or communicate in different voices, they can just get a bot to do it for them.

I notice newspapers do this online. The writing lacks structure and doesnt have that emotion or passion behind it. Companies will choose this option to save 💰

I take your point.
It's not one of my key skills and if I can take a shortcut to answer emails, and we're not talking essays here, that were sent because people can, for example not use a basic search function to find the information that was already sent to them, I will. When I write a publication (without AI of course!), it will be edited, proof read and fact cecked by a dedicated department too.
A few weeks ago I ran something I had written myself through an AI detector and everything was flagged as AI generated 😄

When my boss is busy, she seems to automatically isolate herself, handle all of the tasks alone, ignores messages etc.

I'm a really anxious person and this leads me to worry if she just doesn't trust me to assist, or if she's mad at me for something. I know logically it's her personality and her way of working but I really tend to worry about the worst (as in, am I doing so badly I'm going to get sacked).

Omg this has been me for most of the week, I had a bit of an f* up at work last week and we already discussed it and my manager told me she wasn't angry or anything, and I'd apologised. However this meant she had to have a difficult meeting with someone as a consequence and it feels like she's (still) pissed off and avoiding me but I don't know if it's that or because she's extremely busy with rounding things off before the Christmas closedown (as my manager does the same as yours with isolating etc)

Also, anyone else dealing with people at work being majorly cunty this week? Some of the emails I've received or been CCed into... eek. I get it, we're all busy and tired and ready for a break, but maybe keep it professional?

I'm sorry you experience it too - but also relieved it's not just me.

As for the attitude from people - absolutely. Christmas spirit is optional it seems...

I work for a middle manager who has 3 people reporting to him including me. Today he came into the office and gave the senior managers a box of chocolates. He didn't give anything to the people who report to him but sent us an email instead 🙄 thanks mate 👀
That's very poor form.

Somewhere I worked many years ago, the manager gave 50 quid vouchers to all his pets, and the rest of us - you have guessed it - absolutely nothing. There was war over it, but he couldn't see that he had done anything wrong.

People who simply cannot read the room

We had some interview outcomes today and of course a few people were upset and it was fairly obvious. Their FRIEND seemed to not to pick up on this at all or completely ignore it and chewed one of them out for their attitude

Some great entertainment to listen in on but I also just wanted to die right there and then from how uncomfortable it was

I'm an isolator at work too and anxious and I do that because I've never had help when you are raised within a narc family you just do it yourself and your anxiety about how you need to do things, get them done and be alerted is like me. I like to know. You need to help your nerves, stress levels as it will make you ill as it weakens your immune system and it goes haywire making you look different and act jittery and you get use to that too 🤒 🤧
take care of yourself you are important ✨💛
I got ill a few years back and bloods indicated this. Its amazing how being around toxicity can actually have markers for a doctors just taking a look at you. My brother too is getting like me now.

Definately make her aware with a smile and say it with positivity that you love she gets things done its approach you want but explain your anxiety too 💕

It's awful when you have a psycho boss too. I have one and I'm so glad he plans to leave the company next year I'm hoping sooner though.
