It’s very possible she felt she was protecting the kids. I have no doubt at all that she loves those girls. For all intents and purposes, she raised them.

this is what I dont understand. the hair transplant shows him to be vain (not a bad thing as a actor) and definitely would be seen by the usual suspects as setting the wrong priorities, and it would feel humiliating, and crucially its actually real. You can see this way how much Alice is obsessed with Bianca: she rather invents a story involving Bianca rather than taking the story that is actually there that doesnt involve Bianca.

I think what she's doing is more threatening and sinister - she could have just said he's spent x thousand dollars on a hair transplant (which would be a true story) but what she's actually saying to him with this is "I can make up lies about you any time I want, have them published and there is nothing you can do about it"
