90’s TV

Ooh I’ve just thought of another one, although it may be 00’s actually, but does anyone remember Cilla Black’s Moment Of Truth where a family went on each week to win dream prizes and one adult member of the family were given a week to learn a really difficult task and then had to successfully do it live in the studio with the audience watching? I used to love that!
I loved that! Loved seeing what their dream prizes were

Another one was Holiday Showdown, sending two families, complete opposites on a 2 week holiday, one week what one family did and the other doing what the other family did.

Also, wife swap! Never forget the guy smoking weed and climbed out the window, his kid telling the woman his wife had swapped with to F OFF 😂

Loved Holiday Showdown! Surprised it hasn’t been brought back yet (pre covid). I watched Rich Holiday Poor Holiday on channel 5 the other day thinking it would be similar but it wasn’t and was pretty boring tbh.

I actually watched episodes again of it on you tube during lockdown last year. It was great viewing, usually the two mums would come to blows :D

I loved Holiday Showdown, my favourite was one family took the other family to Borneo to the monkey sanctuary and the other Dads comment was 'well it's not monkey world' 😂😂😂

LOVED Gladiators! Can't believe I'd forgot that one! Went to see it live and it was filmed really randomly and not like you saw on TV... Almost backwards!!

We used to go The American Adventure Theme Park a lot and I think there must have been a ride opening called the Wolf as he was there one time when we went and we have a picture of him with me and my brother 😂 my mum has it framed and in thier front room window 🧐😂

I went to watch Gladiators too. It was SUCH a long day of filming and the equipment takes ages to set up between each game though there was entertainment in between and kids could go into the arena and play against the gladiators who would pretend to be trying their hardest and then let the kids win 😂 I was at the show where Panther had an injury and it delayed the show for so long we had to go home and we missed the eliminator😔

This was the Panther thing: Disaster struck for Panther in the 1994 (3rd series) 1st quarter final. She was involved in one of the most horrific accidents in the shows history. Panther was competing on the Tilt event and she started to slip forward on the table, suddenly it tilted and Panther fell head first, face down into the crash mat below. Her legs went over her head! Panther sustained serious neck and back injuries which put her out of action for 5 months- she thought her Gladiator career was over.

Brookside! - I was a huge fan. I actually think my sister had the specials on video. Remember the helicopter crashing into the petrol station, the bomb in the spa/gum/club, the hostage situation which saw jennifer Ellison jump out the window.

Footballer's Wives & Bad Girls were two other firm faves.

Also on a Saturday night, Don't try this at Home with Davina Mccall.
Oooh yes. All of these!!
Also loved Streetmate was Davina. Was that 90s or 00s??
Saturday night was Gladiators, You Bet, Noel’s House Party, Blind Date.....good times! Oh and the Generation Game.....cuddly toy!!
