My random tuppence about names.

Nell is gorgeous, really lovely classic old fashioned but not whacky name. Reminds me of the character in The Haunting of Hill House, who is one of my favourite characters in the last decade of TV (and one of my favourite series). Wouldn't call my child it as I'm superstitious and weird but it's a nice name.

Novie is bleeping weird and makes me want to lobby the government to introduce a law similar to New Zealand, Germany, Portugal or Norway where stupid bleeping names are banned for the sake of the kids. Why wouldn't you just call her Nova?

Quirky names are cute don'tcha know! Incidentally my Nanna had an Auntie Helen who had her name adapted to " Nell" as none of the little ones could say Helen. I digress. As a 70s kid there weren't many out there names tbh. In my corner of the big smoke.

I saw in Joes video that his dad is house sitting for him whilst he’s in Aus over Christmas, so I wonder if Zoe will have him over for Christmas Day? Seems odd to go all that way & be so close to them to not spend it together.
You never really hear her mention their dad or see him much.

It would be nice for Zoe to extend an invite - I suppose just depends on what terms him and her mum are on since they divorced and whether they’d be comfortable spending Christmas together (and with their new partners).

I’m just reminded of the old cranky woman in Wuthering Heights, Nelly Dean. Both names are an absolute no from me.

And looking back at Mark’s gift, he’s ridic. The blanket looks nice but taking a massive and brand new cream coloured blanket to give birth? Is he messing? Maternity is roasting and messy and your bags are full enough.
I feel bad his efforts were in no way reciprocated, as it was a nice gift. Just became a swing & a miss once he started insisting.
