Your tips on how to keep your home glamorous #3

Oooh maybe a bagged would be better. Emptying a bag less one just causes dust to go everywhere which sort of defeats the purpose doesn’t it…

Thanks everyone! Going to have a browse and see if there are any sales/ my Blue Light Card can serve me well!

We’ve been having an epic house clean and apparently we’re filthy bastards as our old corded vacuum has just died a death on us. I’d like some recommendations for a new one. We have a cordless vac and it is good, but we have a large house so I do want a corded for the ‘main clean’, I just find them better, more powerful and I need more than 20 minutes to get around my house!.

We have lots of stairs, everywhere except kitchen, bathroom and loft room have carpet. It’s a dusty old Victorian house and we have a cat and me who sheds an unholy amount of hair.

I would like bagless (but that’s kind of standard now), long stretchy hose for crevices and the stairs, won’t choke under all the fur and hair and dust bunnies. Preferably not insanely heavy, with a long power cable. Any thoughts?
Miele the pets version should sort you out

Another vote for Miele - ours is maybe 12 years old and it's an absolute animal. Whenever it breaks I'll order another Miele the same day. Have had Henry, Morphy Richards, Daihatsu (now that was a piece of shite) and others over the years.

I’ve got a Henry and it’s about 15+ years old. You can get a longer hose for it so ideal for stairs. I’ve got a dog, 2 cats and 3 kids.

Husband is a tradesman so used almost every vac under the sun in customers houses. He wouldn’t used anything else but a Henry. Very reasonably priced too.

Henry's are amazing of course, but so heavy. Definitely a proper trades vacuum but I have flashbacks to hoovering a massive restaurant with it 🤣

I’ve experienced many Henry and Hetty vacs in my working life for sure! I’ve never found them that great but the places where I worked they took a serious beating and the bags never got emptied so that’s probably why…
