I saw an article earlier about how Lanas mum is a script supervisor on Hollyoaks and that’s how Lana met Owen Warner and it just made me realise that most of the stuff we know about the islanders is what we read online. Yeah we knew she went out with Owen but didn’t know how she met him… and that’s the kind of conversations we should be getting to see.
All we see is… where’s ur head at?…. How u feeling etc…. I wanna see normal conversations about their everyday lives and jobs then I would feel like I know them better…. I know almost nothing about these people so why should I be invested in watching them every night?
Why aren’t we hearing about random nights outs? Holidays they’ve been on? Kai is a teacher, kids say and do funny things… would be interesting to hear those things… Olivia has been in Eastenders etc but we wouldn’t have known that if we hadn’t seen it online… Jessie never talks about her experience on Love Island before… Lana could be talking about famous people she’s done make up for…. Where’s the arguments? There has to be more than they have showed …. all that stuff is interesting and would make people more invested…. This scripted shite is just ridiculous!

One of the things that has gone wrong with Love Island is that they have stopped holding open auditions and now head hunt people instead. So it’s going to be people who’ve already had a bit of exposure etc.

But even in that season, there were a lot of interesting and likeable characters. It just seems to have become more and more manufactured. Even the way it is filmed has changed.

If this is true 🤞 I'll love seeing Tom's wee furrowed brow as the cogs slowly start turning as he tries to work it out. One by one his bitchy little gang being picked off.

Aren’t they not supposed to talk about the outside……and if they do, then it’s not put on tv. I mean the contestants definitely do talk about the outside to each other, but it will rarely be put on the show because of that rule. So that’s why we don’t see it! Hence why you never really see the contestants having deep conversations on the show or even conversations about their families etc.

If that’s true it’s possible their fans will transfer their votes to Samie and Tom, and they have a lot of fans.
Shame this seems to have been spoiled but have to say this is the sort of thing the Sun does get right.

Tbh it would be the best day of MY life going in as family, telling Tanya/Shaq the public doesn't like them, Jessie cries with nothing coming out and Sammie/Tom needs to keep their beaks outta people business and being kicked out by ITV

Yeah you can choose not to screen that. But Tanya wouldn't unhear it. 🤣
