William and Kate #8

I thought it was a really lovely video.
She was clearly sicker than they let on (fair enough I don't feel entitled to know her indepth medical info).

To me the video feels like, also since she's not been around, here is a snapshot of our life, thanks for the space.

Cancer is a bleep and it's nice to see her on the other side of it.

I'm sorry but that video was just nauseating. Is Kate the first woman to have cancer? Why does she need all this fanfare to celebrate her finishing chemo, all paid for out of the public purse? All the PDAs too! How on earth do people fall for this crap?!

No she isn't, but she is the future queen of this country and a young woman with a young family. It's good for people to see there can be a happy ending after the big C. I'd rather enjoy it and wish her well than be so bitter that I ask whether she's the first person to have cancer.

Hmmm that video feels a bit naff and family-blogger to me, her thoughtfully leaning on a tree and staring into the distance - cringe! but people seem to lap up this tit so I guess it's a good move from them.
Walking through a meadow then a butterfly gently alights on Catherine’s hand and takes off again, a true snapshot of her life. You’re 💯 right people lap that 💩 up, just read the tattle comments.

A picnic, a dog, mum and dad in love, the boys tree climbing. So wholesome it felt almost propaganda like.

Unpopular opinion, but I kind of agree with you.
It all seems a bit pretentious?
Anybody can run around in the woods or on the beach and pretend it’s all great & happy families.. a very typical IG ‘thing’
To me it actually comes across that they know that she hasn’t got much time left.
Why isn’t just a simple announcement wasn’t good enough with one ‘happy families’ photograph?
Either way, I won’t be giving any more attention to any of their stuff, there are lots of heartbreaks many families going through right now and my thoughts are with them.

I mean, she didn't even have active cancer, as far as the public has been told if I remember correctly. She had surgery, something removed, cancer cells were found there, so mop-up chemo? Correct me if I am wrong. Preventative/adjuvant chemo sucks, I'm sure it is terrifying, and I'm glad she's well; but it's different than what Charles is currently going through.

I think it all speaks of very slick PR moves to show the happy families and I've not been well, now I'm better, yet I don't intend to do much in the way of public duties ever again, so here's an over-produced video. It is leaning hard into the 'Brave saint Kate's CANCER BATTLE, how dare you criticize her/William ever again' vibe in tabloids as well.

Having seen my father in law wither away suffering horrifically from cancer and treatment it kind of puts a bad taste in my mouth.

Look I can’t stand Catherine or any member of that family of absolute parasites but I think she had cancer as much as Charles had/has cancer. I’m not a doc but as I understand it sometimes cancer is diagnosed at excision, so when you find out you’ve got it it’s already excised. The ‘mop up’ or adjuvant chemo would have been just as harrowing as pre operative or neo-adjuvant chemo.

‘Cancer cells’ is word play, cancer cells=cancer.

Maybe because she is the future Queen!
So what? I am fundamentally opposed to the royal family as an institution so couldn’t care less about that. She is no better or more worthy a person than anyone else, yet she receives the best of everything, including the best cancer care, probably in the world. I think it’s self indulgent, producing this video. The announcement could have been made in a much less happy clappy self centred way. What annoys me most is that there are cancer patients who will be waiting for treatment, getting less good care than she did, and having to do everything else in their lives - work, look after kids. It seems insane to me that people are so overjoyed that she has ‘triumphed’ over cancer when she had it way easier than pretty much anyone else.

I’m going through ‘neo adjuvant’ chemo at the moment and it’s the same as any other chemo. For me it’s just means it’s before two big surgeries and the purpose is to shrink the cancer as much as possible before the operations. Adjuvant is referring to the timing not the tit that is being pumped into her

Even if she hadn’t married into royalty she was still from a rich family and would probably have married well like her sister, so she would always have been able to have private treatment.
Those I know with cancer have received excellent care through the NHS.
I don’t begrudge rich people their wealth or their better lifestyle but then I don’t suffer from jealousy.

Glad Kate is doing well, but I’m sorry this made me laugh…

How much less could she possibly do? She worked so little before her illness that she was in no way missed this year. I’d love to see her do something meaningful when she’s ready to “go back to work” but I won’t hold my breath.

Exactly this , chemo is chemo whether adjuvant, neo adjuvant or even palliative. I once heard of chemo being administered for Chrons as well although a very mild dose.

Wishing you a full and quick recovery. 😘

The fact is had she not married William no one knows what she would have done with her life or whether she would have been in a position to have private health care. Of course there is perfectly good cancer care available on the NHS. Observations about disparity in lifestyle may be more about injustice than jealousy and even if jealousy plays a part that doesn’t render an observation inaccurate.

It doesn't matter how rich or poor you are when it comes to cancer. It's indiscriminate and you will either live or die.
Look at the super wealthy who die because of cancer.
She may have had a more comfortable treatment period because she won't have had to queue or worry about bills etc but any parent with young children who has children will have gone through hell with a cancer diagnosis.
Money doesn't spare you from that.
