It's not hard to scoot over and leave the other seat available either. There's literally no difference between a window seat and an aisle seat.
And yes I can ask people to move and I do, and I get side eyed or straight up ignored. If you don't want anybody to sit next to you, take a cab.
I hate the window seat, makes me feel pinned in and claustrophobic if someone then sits in the aisle seat, but of course I’ll stand up to let someone in there if they want it, that’s just common courtesy surely?

After having my arse slapped and pinched and called a stuck up bleep last time I sat in the window seat and asked the man sat next to me if I could get past for my stop, I’ll stick with the aisle ta.

I avoid all of this kerfuffle by either sitting at the single seat at the front (not the driver seat 😂 but the one behind) or standing.

Busses are a bit awkward and uncomfortable anyway but I think most people sit in the aisle seat hoping people won't sit next to them as they're less likely to ask someone to move than to sit on a seat more easily available.

The continous bullshit of hiring decisions Bit ofa later start to the jobsearch today bcos i'm not feeling too good. I signed into my email to find a rejection - nothing new here but I am absolutely at a loss as to what hiring managers etc want.. WHY am I good enough to have worked for 2 really high profile prestige household name public sector institutions supporting Executive directors and yet I have just been rejected for a team admin role at Heathrow ? or even worse I get rejected from some poxy little local company who tell me I am not good enough to work for them?
Or what about one of those remote virtual assistant agencies where you just work from home for whoever hires the agency?

I find it weird when people get on the bus and stand up when there are seats free that don't involve asking people to move. Why can grown adults not sit next to someone they don't know?

Send a counter offer of £2.99

and they always stand right in the way. I've stood once when there were seats - had an issue with my coxycc and standing was a bit more comfortable.

I always sit on the single seat behind the driver as well on a bus if it's available but if the bus is nearly full I would sit next to anyone. Most annoying I had was on a train that only had a few people on. I had my bag on the seat next to me. I went to the toilet and this guy got on and sat in the seat I was sitting in next to my bags, don't know why he didn't pick the multiple rows of empty seats and had to ask me if it was in he sat where he did when I got back? I just moved my stuff and sat on an empty row

£100 million being spent on a bleeping bat shed for HS2. WTAF????

I'm sorry but that is absolutely ridiculous.
I may have mentioned this before but I know someone who was paid very handsomely to rehome dormice on a hs2 route. Literally pop them in her pocket and put them somewhere else.

The track never went through the plot in the end. I love nature but she really was paid an insane amount.

Not quitting my job because I love my small team and they are my biggest support. But work knowing this and using this to their advantage and worrying about me and not my team members (ie: we can’t afford to have x off we would be screwed) but not acknowledging my staff that have to work with agency. Currently We have staff sickness (1 but we have been saying for anges we need someone extra) and have always covered everything. We always say we won’t cover the shift but end up doing it because we care for our team. The one time I didn’t show up there was no support from management and my team member called me in tears that evening and to this day that still haunts me (we had discussed previously ) and that day I wanted to prove a point. Management want to keep me happy but aren’t praising my team. Also due to the sickness I’m having to work from home (I will claim back the time) but I worked 8 days last week 5 days this week with calls from my team in tears on my day off! I always tell them to call me if they need to.
i have annual leave booked in December and am concerned if the sickness is not sorted I will be working on my annual leave… something I’m not happy to do. But don’t want to leave my colleagues in the tit?

any advice or where to repost?
thanks

i always think theres something suss about all those fully remote virtual assistant roles. As a single woman with no outside financial support I need to be paid reliably. from a stable company as guaranteed income.

Ghosting out of order, interview feedback is often unhelpful though, mind you - I don’t think I’ve ever had really constructive interview feedback.

I am sure January will open up as people tend to sit tight for Xmas and then spread their wings, leaving job openings all over the place.

it’s not right but there’s a good chance someone felt you are over qualified for some of the positions you are not hearing back from if you have quite high profile sounding job titles/job placements on your CV. Unconscious bias is a terrible thing.

I’ve also been ghosted from another interview.

It never ever used to be this hard. It’s almost like the more expensive you have the less they want to employ you. Even if you’re going for roles that you aren’t over qualified for.

I agree it's not hard to scoot over if you want to sit next to the window. I don't want to. I like the aisle seat
