Does he know what a Watt is? My guess is also no. He’s just throwing around measurements to seem credible when he’s a complete shyster.

Also zone 3 at 170bpm HR? Lol.

As much as Jemma annoys me (moaning, coffee machine, filming others), one thing can be said about her, she trains like she means it. A recent back injury has put her on the side lines and she’s pulled out of Boston.

Welloggs are probably going “ but that’s like 3 months away? You could heal, do a tri during your recovery and still be on the start line hiding another injury.” Thry need to learn from those around them. Honesty, transparency, facing up to the truth about their own capabilities would do them the world of good.
 
What a wanky word salad that is! Also, I’m sure one person asked on Strava and so he decided to make a story out of it, acting like tons of people have asked. He tries to hard to sound clever and like he knows what he’s talking about but just ends up looking like a massive prick. Mate, you are not elite, you are not Ingebritsen, get a job and stick to the hobby running ✌🏻✌🏻

I read the whole response and it was such a colossal load of tit. Heart rate is lower if you’re fatigued? Get a bleeping grip.

Kels has done 3 runs this year, totalling 20 miles. Clearly injured AF but keeping it a secret. I guess she’s not planning on joining the Runner of 4 and Irritating Jemma with a J bandwagon and disclosing it. Probably just in case we all think she’s a tit coach for being constantly injured. Don’t worry Kels, that’s not the only reason we think you’re a tit coach 😆

What a total load of bollocks.

For endurance running the majority of your training should be in zone 2, or you end up over training/injured/not improving….hang on, he has just answered all the questions about why he hasn’t been getting faster!

How to show you don’t know what you are talking about without saying you don’t know what you are talking about. Moron.

I was going to ask what do we think is up with Kels... injury or finally admitting she has fallen out of love with running and can't face it/be arsed?

Not defending him at all because his training is insane, but I think based off his obsession with lactate measurements he will be using this three zone training methodology based around lactate threshold 1 and lactate threshold 2 (I don’t understand it whatsoever - but a quick google pulled this up from a cycling coach’s website so you can sort of see what Matt is on about). Not that he seems to explain it very well when people ask 🤷‍♀️
