Maybe cyclist should realise that as road users traffic lights, crossings, no entry and one way signs apply to them
I agree. If they followed the rules of the road they wouldn’t bug me so much. It’s the cycling side by side in groups - so dangerous!! They should be single file. Not using their arms to indicate where they’re going but instead swerving or just stopping. Not going to the dedicated bike section at the start of a junction but instead standing behind a car in the traffic queue as if they are a car - I mean come on, help people see you’re there ffs.

Ok don’t come @ me cycle haters BUT

unpopular opinion: pavements and roads are public routes and no one is more entitled to them than anyone else. Cyclists, motorists should both be able to use roads and be respectful of the other user. You aren’t more entitled to road space because you have a car (sorry)

I say this as someone who occasionally drives, occasionally rides my bike to the shop but mostly uses public transport

Having worked with enough of them, a large majority of local councillors are lazy, gobby, know-it-alls who are only in it for the allowances and perks rather than helping their community. The Jackie Weaver thing was a completely accurate representation.

agreed! I’m not sure this is unpopular! Some of them are outright corrupt. My old landlord had a cousin who was a councillor and turned a blind eye (supposedly) to HMO safety regs he ignored in his property portfolio.

I think most politicians really believe they are doing the right thing; politicians aren't cartoonish villains who hate poor people and do things just for kicks. I do believe a lot of them go in to politics for the ego boost as well, however.

My nephew has gone into politics, he is a lovely man who really believes in what he says and would never take a bribe or backhander, sadly he will be eaten alive and spat out.

I hate the concept of ‘white privilege’ & how it’s not enough to just not be not racist anymore, you have to be ‘anti racist’ and post black squares on your social media. I don’t get the obsession with identity, we’re all just members of the human race at the end of the day.
It must be nice being white and not having to care.

Your opinion isn't unpopular. Lots of people are secretly racist.

You’ve just described my local councilor to a T! A lazy waste of space who only gets reelected because he’s lived in the community all his life and people vote for him because ‘he’s one of us’. He is useless and doesn’t step up when needed and is also an independent so isn’t answerable to any party. We have some really good councilors nearby which it makes even more galling.

Exactly, you can be an athlete who is vegan or an unhealthy vegan, just like there are trim omnivores and those who aren't. The prime focus is on ethics, health and the environment being pluses. I just find the idea that people condemning veganism entirely because of how people "look" to be missing the point. Like ofcourse your health is going to suffer if you only eat fastfood vegan options or equally bananas and dates.

All vegan diets are bad for you, doesn't matter if you eating mcvegan or whole foods. We need vitamins and minerals that can only been absorbed when consumed with animal products. You can be healthy on a vegetarian or pescatarian diet, but not vegan.
It's got nothing to do with being fat, it's about giving your body the nutrition it needs.

And being vegan won't save the planet, if we were all vegan it would cause another set of problems. Look at the almond and avacodo industries. Locally sourced ethically farmed would be much better for the planet. But that wouldn't make big corporations money, so that's not what is being pushed.

I’m 8-10 . I’ve had oh you clearly don’t eat , when I eat more than my dh 😂, oh what diet are you on. Always from larger people who think because I’m smaller they can body shame me. might start asking people people how many mds they had yesterday.
I am in the same boat. I am a size 8, all of my friends are larger (sizes 12/14). They feel perfectly entitled to make comments about my body because I am not fat I.e. Breast size. Whereas I wouldn't dream in a million years on commenting on their bodies as I know how upset they would get.

I worked with a girl who was naturally a size 6, a customer told her she's gorgeous but way too skinny. I couldn't imagine myself walking into a shop and passing a comment to the cashier about her weight.. If my co-worker had been overweight, would that customer have said 'you're gorgeous but way too fat', I bet not🙊

Ive noticed Boohoo will post a picture of a morbidly obese girl in a bikini and censor comments posted on these pictures. They will usually take down any comment which talks about the woman's weight negatively BUT they leave up the skinny bashing comments, for example: 'glad to see some real women, sick of seeing these disgusting skinny models'.
Boohoo supports skinny bashing and promotes obesity.

I hate the next door app, all it does is make me habitually check all my doors are locked.

Also as touched on earlier one woman saying her freezer broke..food spoilt..got no money..can't feed her kids. It is heartening to see people rallying round but then a few days later she's asking for recommendations for a company to buff her car/clean her windows/professional cake maker! Drive a scratched car, clean your own windows and bake your own fooking cake if money's that tight 😬
I find nextdoor is just endless people introducing themselbes and cluttering up the feed, it can be good but it is hard to wade through it all. I agree, I offered a TV to someone on nextdoor as hers had been stolen (it was my old one I no longer use) instead of just being grateful or whatever she started asking me about the brand/measurements etc etc

99% of white people talking on social media about how they are "doing the work" and how they are now "confronting their own historic microaggressions" are doing so for virtue signalling purposes imho. By all means do it, but why feel the need to tell everyone about it?!

Just don't be a racist, don't put up with other people being racists, and call them out on it when you do see them being racist. That is a reasonable stance to take by any sensible standards.

I'm a grown adult and giving me - or anyone else over the age of 10, for that matter - a "workbook" is pretty patronising (I'm talking about the Layla F Saad one!)

I think peoples opinions are mostly irrelevant

I don’t care for Sandrines at work and her opinion on whether I’m going to breastfeed my child or not

I don’t care that PeterPan at the pub doesn’t agree with my hobbies

mind ya own bizniz
I think youre right there! ........my personal opinions are only mine, no one else is interested in them , just like other peoples personal opinions are just theirs.... perhaps if more people remembered that, we would all rub along a little bit better
