Right a few things to vent on.
First opinion:
I have no problem with people who migrate here and do it the proper way. I was looking at requirements to get a visa in Australia and they're really strict. You have to show you have enough money to support yourself and pass a health test so you're essentially not a drain on their healthcare system. What annoys me about europeans before Brexit was most of them come over and do jobs which simply doesn't pay them enough a month to survive off of. So they then ask for help off of our government on top. I don't agree with people coming over here and getting housed and given benefits when people born here are struggling to get help. My grandmother lives in Spain and she didn't get treated differently and get extra help because she was from the UK. She got treated equally to Spaniards and had to pay her prescriptions and healthcare and everything else. Polish, Romanian etc come here and they work but they usually do low skilled jobs which of course then doesn't pay well. I honestly don't have the stance of "they're stealing our jobs". I actually respect more that they come and contribute than come and live off of handouts off of the taxpayer. I actually know a few people who offered to help during the pandemic with fruit and veg picking and they didn't even get a reply - they were white british. So when everyone says all brits are lazy and wouldn't do low skilled jobs, that's not necessarily true. What angers me is europeans and people who aren't british complain we are racist and hateful of them, but if thousands of us migrated to Poland (or insert other country) and asked for help and were prioritised over their own people, they would turn on us and say "those bleeping English". People who come over on a visa at least have to prove that they have a well paid job (unless I'm wrong) and they have to show they can support themselves. That for me is someone who is migrating here the right way and not being entitled and lazy.
My second unpopular opinion is this new thing about people not being able to judge lazy scroungers because it's "classism". I'm not speaking about women who have children and, for unforeseen circumstances, split with their partner further down the line and are struggling to make ends meet being a single parent so ask for help off of the government, or people who have an injury or illness which forces them to be unable to work or stop working the job they do, or a mental health issue. My issue is people who are lazy and play the system on purpose pushing out kid after kid expecting to get lots of money and housing for it. I know they capped child benefits after 2 kids but you still get a lot more help if you have children. Free school meals which in some areas is now vouchers you can spend up supermarkets on school holidays, you get extra money than a single person on a household support grant or energy bill help and the list goes on. People who work hard shouldn't have to fit the bill because you chose to be lazy and never work but have multiple offspring.
