UK Literary Luvvies #3 Logistical reasons mean the only recommendations I have are Greek cleaning products

Does anyone listen to Oenone and co's podcast Everything is Content? As much as it's quintessential literary luvvie territory I've loosely followed her for years and do find it (just about) worth a listen.
Just started their new episode and they describe Olivia Petter as among other things a 'broadcaster' which feels like a title reserved for your Trevor McDonald's of the world but in literary luvvie world seems to be applicable to just about anyone

I tried one episode but couldn’t stand her posh voice. Completely unlistenable

friendly reminder that EDs have a strong genetic component and nearly all who experience them have a background of trauma as well, and Scarlett has hinted several times at a history of abuse. I reaaalllly find it so hard seeing a lapse like this, I hope she's going back to people who love and can help her get the care she needs.

I am the same age as Scarlett and a recovered Anorexic I was big into the Anorexia 'tumblr' scene as a teenager and a lot of my 'friends' attended the same school as Scarlett, I also wonder what was going on in that school that so many of their students ended up this way.

I don’t think it’s a reach to suggest that a private school in London where the pupils are likely to have very high achieving / successful parents (who are more likely to outsource some if not all of their childcare responsibilities) and where the school has very high standard would naturally be rife with control-related disorders. Add into that the 90s/2000s cultural lens of thinness being the holy grail and how cruel teenagers (sometimes particularly girls) can be to each other… is it a surprise that so many of that demographic have extremely disordered relationships with food, exercise and their bodies?

Mega creepy, I agree.

A friend of mine has met Emma Freud in Suffolk and she said Emma was anorexic. I can’t say I can see that from the photos, but she swore she was unnaturally thin and weird about food.

Certainly nearly all of my friends with eating disorders have mothers who had them, too.
 
I find it weird that they all made out Scarlett had some weird illness when actually it was probably anorexia? Which many people without their wealth have to navigate and don’t make out like it’s something it isn’t. Didn’t they make it sound like it was some rare unknown disorder? She went into a special clinic or something.

Her latest ‘poor me’ post cites ‘5 house moves in 3 years’ among other woes eg ‘major chest infection’.

Sorry but all those house moves (her poor bloody children) are ENTIRELY down to her and her choices. Why did she buy a second home in Menorca if it meant she would subsequently not be able to afford mortgage repayments on her main home in London?

And don’t give me that ‘ADHD’ bull.

This is all of her own making and she’s a dick.
