UK Literary Luvvies #3 Logistical reasons mean the only recommendations I have are Greek cleaning products

Ooh I think Stacey is trolling us - she’s just put up a grid post featuring the weekly shop 😂
We didn’t think you NEVER did the weekly shop Stacey!

In other antics, she has also contacted Paloma Faith’s publicist to complain about her ripping off her book but slightly regrets it.
Hmmm, I think she mighta helped Paloma Faith's book. I didn't even know about it until I saw SD ranting about it! Talk about self-destruct Stacey! She'll have pissed off her publisher and ruined future work by saying she regrets writing her book, she'll have been rude to Paloma Faith's publisher/publicist/agent who now will spread the word that SD is a cunny, and she'll have directed all her "fans" in the direction of what looks like a better and more interesting book!

All you foodies should read ‘piglet’. Not a perfect book but one of the more interesting ones I’ve read this year and lots of foodie fodder.

One to avoid if you have ED triggers (binge and emotional eating).
Oh that’s my library holy grail, keeps disappearing and being transferred between borough libraries 📕 obvs popular for a reason!

Dolly’s new one was always available, was quite stricken by its unpopularity

Yeah some are but it’s being talked about a lot. It’s not a perfect book but there are great elements to it. Lots of stuff about class too. I’d absolutely read whatever she writes next. I thought the guardian review was quite accurate and fair - it’s a debut and we have this huge expectation for showstopping debuts. I also liked that it wasn’t raved about by the luvvies.

Sorry I know this isn’t a book thread, but has anybody read Green Dot? I’m not loving it so far, despite the LL rave reviews. Maybe it gets better though
Halfway through :) I like that it’s set in Sydney which is different but the writing style is kind of pretentious. Don’t like the not like other girls manic pixie dream girl vibe of Hera either. LLs love all of that ;)

Oh my gosh, v true. I just thought her and her friends were mean. Happy to read it but I’ve never felt so old as when I read that book.

Love to hate panda’s holiday snaps.

Who has been to see dolly live? She’s in Australia soon. Worth a look? Can’t imagine she’ll be anywhere near where I live though.

It was discussed a little while ago on this thread and I think the general consensus was that we didn’t understand the rave reviews. A friend of mine read it and loved it. I don’t understand why….

I like Elizabeth, but those singing videos were so cringe. Why post them ?
Because for some reason she thinks we all need and want to know that she’s loving her best life and is very much in love. At last. Despite all the heartbreak she’s endured. And she’ll never be a mother and wants us to know that she’s really so so so so desperately happy.
