Hi all, not sure where else to ask but wondering if any one has tried the Ovu Sense for tracking ovulation? Not sure if worth the money and monthly subscription.

I did and I conceived the first cycle I used it with baby #1 (this was after ttc for 4 years and several Mmc) I liked that it got an accurate temperature and I didn’t have to wake up at the same time each morning etc.

Currently ttc #2 and will probably re activate my subscription with OvuSense at some point soon

Wow that’s amazing! Can I ask what it did that was so different to other OPKs? Was your ovulation window very different?

It’s pricey so not sure I want to fork out when I get a static smiley on my clearblue every month. 🤔

It helps you confirm ovulation. So ovulation tests can detect a rise in your lh but they don’t actually confirm you ovulated. So from tracking my temperatures I knew that I had definitely ovulated that month. It lined up exactly with my ovulation tests though. I guess you could buy a bbt thermometer which is a lot cheaper and do it that way if you didn’t want to pay for the OvuSense

I’d bought it because I suspected I wasn’t ovulating each month so I wanted to double check I was

Oh fab thank you for your insight

I have what might seem like a dumb question … 😕 but I feel like we didn’t get the right education in school and all that!

So, Does having a period each month mean that you are actually ovulating? I just feel like how can intercourse always land on predicted ovulation and the days before and after but pregnancy doesn’t occur? I know it’s not that simple, this thread has learnt me that. But am I being dumb? Lol. Someone please educate me 🤓 I hope my Q makes sense :)

The ovulation test strips show us whether our body is producing Luteinising Hormone which triggers ovulation at its peak. You would usually ovulate 8-20 hours after your peak and your egg can survive for up to 24 hours unless it’s met and fertilised by a sperm. Even if your egg is fertilised it may not implant, and even if it implants it may not “stick” - this is a chemical pregnancy.
some will have a peak LH but no ovulation after, for a variety of reasons (E.g. problem with one ovary - they alternate each month, no mature follicles or a condition like poly cystic ovaries or overactive/under active thyroid).
ovulation can be confirmed by a day 21 blood test, and some use basal temping but it can be inaccurate/tricky to get right.
There are so many variables and your chance of getting pregnant each month is around 25% in your 20s, decreasing to 5% in your 40s. I hope this helps!!!

We’ve been TTC for over a year now with no luck, I haven’t had a period since last June so I’m quite concerned. I’ve got a doctors appointment booked for next week to have a chat about it. I’m only 24 but I already feel this isn’t meant to be for me😣
Fingers crossed your Doctor has some answers for you 🤞🏼.
there is some info on the NHS site if you haven’t already read it: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/stopped-or-missed-periods/
This isn’t necessarily the end of the road, it’s just a bit of a detour ❤️

My goodness! Positive OPK on First Response and two days late to my period apparently. CM is milky only when i wipe! I have no pregnancy tests so I’m looking at my ovulation test with confusion. I also did feel some stab pains on left lower abdomen and then on my right I felt like my bones maybe having a spasm? Wow, what a true roller coaster

Can you buy some tests? Ovulation tests do go positive if you’re pregnant… unless you could be ovulating this late?

Hi everyone. Just looking for a bit of support really. After two years of TTC and 26 negative tests our IVF referral was approved 12 days ago and 6 days ago I found out I am pregnant. To say I was shocked is an understatement. This is my first pregnancy and after the heartbreak for so long and the believing it would never happen I never expected to feel so absolutely terrified! I thought I would feel blissfully happy and I'm just so scared.

Hey this happened to me we got the call about our ivf then the next week found out I was pregnant. Now have a happy healthy toddler and trying for no2. Easier said than done try not to worry. It use to make me feel better writing down mantras every day things like my baby is happy and healthy, I will have a positive pregnancy and labour. And I also paid for private scans for reassurance. Congratulations xx

Just beware

Ovulation tests look for a different hormone they look for LH whereas pregnancy has the HCG hormone which is not present without a pregnancy.

Yeah I’m aware of this. Just seen lots of cases where the lh test is positive if you’re pregnant (this happened to me as well) but obviously it may not always be the case :)

yeah i see so much of it too. i wil buy a test later today

i took a test, what do we think? Indent ? I’ve tried to darken it so much
