Trigger Point

Starting to get more lively now. Have been forced to watch it as hubby is watching and enjoying it 🤷‍♀️. I think Karl is dodgy for sure and maybe Youngblood too? Seemed too easy that the ginger guy (forgot his name) with the map in his locker was organising it all.

I think something is off about Karl. Oh is Youngblood married?

I’m sticking with this as I’ve wasted so much time on it already, but honestly, it’s verryyyy slow. It could have been condensed into about four episodes and I have an awful feeling it might end on a cliff hanger, for a Season 2.

I’ve seen it and it doesn’t.

There’s a press embargo so I must be careful but after a quick scroll on twitter I haven’t seen anyone guess what 1912 means correctly.

Who cares I read this thread and ya'll been complaining about it every week. Why would anyone here want it to end on a cliffhanger for a season 2? I'd prefer it if all the characters got blown up in the next episode.
🙄🙄🙄
Posting a hint about the ending is not cool imo. Someone bragging that they’ve seen it, also not cool.

They might be trolling? It's not cool but if the show was binge-able people get a kick out of spoiling the ending for others. The no-cliffhanger isn't surprising as they don't know whether people like it enough to make another. Hopefully there's a mahoosive explosion at the end killing everyone 😄😄😄

I’ve re-watched episodes 1 - 5 in preparation and I really think it’s going to be Karl. He keeps telling Lana that he’s been in the gutter and understands how she feels to lose people she cares about. He’s a mechanic and many of the bombs involve a car or van.

The election has been referred to since the first episode so I suspect this will end up
similar to the part in Bodyguard where the ex-army man tried to assassinate Julia Montague as revenge for her actions during the war

There is right wing terrorism but I hope there’s something deeper than it being a hate war against Muslim, black and LGBT people.

John is too obvious to be the villain. It could all be a big misunderstanding and he could be tied up somewhere.

Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

I like your thinking but part of me thinks it’s too easy to be Karl! Like too obvious unless it comes out he’s related to another character…but then if he is and it’s someone who died when Lana was in Afghanistan how the hell are we supposed to know that? So that to me seems unlikely too
Unless…each time a bomb went off, it was to kill one person at each of those places, and anyone else was collateral…like a govt assassination of certain people they wanted out the way?

There aren’t too many people it could be that we care about (if anyone 😀). I’m thinking Jed Mercurio mentored the writer and all his shows include a form of corruption (Bodies = medical, Line of Duty = police and Bodyguard = political).

Lana told the Occ Health woman she’s worked for the Met Police for 5 years and before that served in Afghan. Karl said he served in Afghan at some point but has worked as a mechanic for a few years. It could be as straight forward as he saw his soldier mates get killed out there and it got covered up which would be very Jed-esque. I don’t know how Nic Roberts and Frank Welsh fit in with that.

I was listening to a random video about Trigger Point and they made some very good points. It’s about bomb disposal which sounds very exciting to viewers but it’s actually a very long laborious process and highly classified. They are not allowed to go into detail about the interesting elements of bomb disposal such as how each bomb has been constructed and how counter-terrorism gather their intel or investigate. They can’t show the tension-fuelled scenes of using the ECM or the bomb disposal experts disarming the bombs beyond a quick snip snip with their trust snips incase real terrorists get tips for the future!! It makes sense but what’s the point then 😆
