The comments are hilarious, folks are crying over them, WHY, we all knew they wouldn't spend the cold winter in that van (nanny's cough)
Like most of you have said, they should just do it part time, they really aren't cut out for full time van life, very fortunate for them to be able to get back to nans parents home

According to Wurzel the van has been serviced twice this year, once just last month. Travelling is their lives. Now theyre implying the fault lies with the van seller, the van servicers, and theyre also having a pop at the RAC! They blame everyone and anyone apart from themselves. Wonder what their good intentioned friends that have helped them out so much eg the scousers make of this..

That's hilarious, travelling is their lives, how many breaks have they had this year :ROFLMAO:
It's always everyone else's fault, umm no, they're just a pair of entitled Muppets playing at van life!

I've not looked at the comments, but come on if you go into van life you need a plan if something goes wrong, or is that plan nowadays Go Fund Me if they had a house and the boiler went down or the roof needed replacing what would there do to repair it oh yes Go Fund Me, perhaps I'm wrong and its a new way of doing things that means you do not have to rely on yourself.

And has it happened my Dyson has just gone tits up (no really it has) and I've just bought a new vacuum myself with my money?

Perhaps we have this all wrong and the way forward in the world is to have a UTube channel that then moves on to be a cult and then get our followers to sort out things for us, I'm up for helping folks in real need but these are not in real need, ok if the Go Fund Me takes off let's see them donate that money to a homeless or similar cause.........Rant over.

@k500rjs so agree, this go fund me lark is getting out of hand, I understood at the beginning from genuine folks who had a very sick kid etc, but their cult suggesting it, like you said there's an awful lot of folks worse off than them.

I also couldn't understand the selling of static home, surely you'd rent it out to see if van life was for you??

I just bought myself a new set of saucepans as the old ones were 9 years old and the lids were cracked and the aluminum was scratching off... nearly saved up enought to buy myself a 6L multi speed cake mixer as I've always wanted one... point being, I'm saving up and buying these as I don't have much money and I'm not asking anyone else to do it for me... but youtubers... oh boy... here's an example, one channel I follow a lady broke up with her boyfriend. Somehow she had nothing. not even a set of plates or a mug! her followers more than doubled on patreon and they got her enough to for a disposit on a house to rent, then she put up her amazon wishlist and I couldn't believe what was on there, for eg, an ice maker for £70 and someone bought it! she did a whole video unboxing amazon parcels. This year she must have received thousands from followers and she only puts up a couple of vids a month! I have thought to myself, you are a idiot for not having a youtube channel and funding your life yourself.

Karma.

I don't believe they're faking the mechanical issues. The dashboard lights and the oil dripping everywhere looked bad. When they come to sell it who's going to want to buy that van now?! It's clear they haven't taken proper care of it with their clueless ways, a subscriber as daft as them no doubt.

I'd be more considered with the video/s I put out about their issues if I was them, is it in any way helpful to put out videos where you say 'this van is cursed'. She's such a weird woman, no strength or resilience, the way she just looked at the ground saying she's lost her glove like she's waiting for someone to find it for her.

I agree I don’t think they’ve faked it but I bet old Nana day is secretly delighted she won’t have to spend the rest of the winter playing pretend at van life …. the only reason that removal company was selling that van in the first place was because they more than likely knew that these troubles were just around the corner a company doesn’t just sell a van that has life in it they sell it when it’s ruddy knackered…. That Green monstrosity has been an albatross around their neck since the day they bought it.

I'm guessing there's a lot of overlap between Whiny Days watchers and those who follow the Travel Beans who recently had people donate 20k for them to buy a new van.
Not sure how anyone can come to the conclusion that these two can't afford a new engine. They sold their caravan and Frieda and we know how little they paid for the green tin can. They also already made 3k from YouTube monthly before their viewership doubled. Then there's the ad content on their vegan site. They are not people in need, they're freeloaders and moochers pretending to deal with hardships.

Fake as duck! Engines don't just limply die like they suggest. A seize can be a spectacular thing to behold.

If it did just limply die its down to ignoring limp mode for ages - not just five minutes off the motorway.

The main reason I'm calling fake as duck - he's in his inlaws house and he's got his bleeping backpack on like he's out walking about, then she's got a bleeping bobble hat on indoors - doubt her parents are that piss poor!!

D&C Fry do recoverys out of Chippenham, so not a million miles away from parents I'm guessing... easy enough to pay the recovery fee for the sympathetic, sycophantic clan to rally round.

I know I sound cynical as duck again, but they really have surpassed themselves with questionable bits in this vid. Complaining about the weather and the sketchy breakdown location - thats your doing mate.... you chose to blindly press on towards the Beacons - really not the place to be heading in the current weather or what we've had over the last week or so. Also, if your van is shitting itself on the motorway, you get off and pull up ASAP not keep going on increasingly smaller roads.

I think this is them maybe bidding fair well to van life as they currently act out. Lets bloody hope so. Stay warm Tattlers.

I agree. I think the removals company likely had a lot of trouble with that van and decided to cut their losses and sell it. The removals company is still in business so why would they sell that van unless it had constant issues?

Yes I thought that when I saw the suggestions of a Go Fund Me page - there is a bit of a difference between the engine going on your van and it bursting into flames.

I’m absolutely flabbergasted that they appear to have zero contingency funds for having engine problems - they seem to live a very temporary lifestyle with no long term planning at all. As has been said before - if your boiler goes, you find a way to replace it. It’s a fact of life that some repairs are expensive!!! Let’s face it they are saving thousands not having any mortgage/rent to pay. They must think we are totally stupid to believe this is an “end of world” scenario. They are bloody lucky they have family they can stay with - why Worzel said the van had to be fixed the next day doesn’t make sense - what was so important?!!!!

Their lack of resilience is pathetic…

Have they tried to blame LTT yet?!

I don’t believe that they’re too poor to buy a new engine. They are just too tight to pay for one. I reckon they’ll have a Go Fund Me in a couple of days. It will be posted along with some spiel about how they didn’t want to, but someone suggested it.

That van hasn’t been serviced properly at all. Remember the brake pad issue in Germany? If they would have had a service before they embarked on a European trip, it wouldn’t have happened.

They’ve decided their narrative and it’s to be out of the van over Xmas. Which is understandable tbh so why lie? Because it perpetuates the lie that they live in the van full time which nobody believes anyway so why bother?

I reckon you’re right that that particular van was sold because it was knackered. So what these brainboxes do is fill it with wooden shelves and a cast iron stove to push it way beyond it’s designed weight. Or rather, get LTT to do that.

Anyone who offers them money is a fooI but there are plenty of those around.

To be there not very sensible the vans probably never been serviced or brakes done or the oil checked so it's there own fault. As for a go fund page that's innocent folk who need the money they can clearly afford to pay so why beg for strangers to fix your van that doesn't sit right with me. They get paid through vegan life and vanlife they sold there home that have plenty of money so no one should help them. As not having a home she has her parents to run bk to so does he think of all the poor folk this Christmas having no security blanket like them

Things that bother me with youtubers:
  • pushing Patreon pages
  • pushing merchandise lines
  • buy me a coffee links
  • community only subscriber posts
  • live streams purely for dominations
  • P. O boxes where you can send them presents
  • Go fund me pages
  • Pushing their paypal address
  • posting a link to their amazon wishlist
Emotionally backmailing their cult/followers with lines like 'so if you enjoy the content contribute because I can't put this content out and keep the channel going without your financial help'; erm, who asked you to start a youtube channel in the first place and now you want me and everyone who watches you to pay you to do it?

More fool all of us for not doing it really. This year I've noticed a lot of youtubers I follow coining it in from their followers. There's a lot of people out there happy to be fleeced by youtubers.

I would imagine the van may have become too small for the removals firm, didn't meet their immediate needs at the time or had come to the end of the financing deal and was moved on.

Most small firms wont, if they can help it be shifting good solid equipment on if its doing a job. I'm guessing it might have been on a paid off lease - 65 reg and they got it after 5 years old - so might just have been depreciated out of the firm at 20% a year which is normal.

Just had a look on a reg checker - new V5 issued in Sep 2022. Yet there isn't a Euro Status marker showing now so I think the dopey scruff might have ruffled the DVLA on something and they've removed the Euro status - normally it stays as it is or is moved up or down, not normal to get it removed. We had a new V5 for our van automatically as the DVLA discovered they'd mis-Euro'd a load of T5.1 vans as 4, when they are 5.

Strange to have the Euro status removed as I'm sure it was showing previously. Also, has pretty high emissions showing so I think they might be on £290 tax instead of £145 going forward. Van is also showing as white when its all green, even though thats pretty meaningless these days, it can bite you on the arse if you have a bump or a tug from the law.

There's deffo somethings not quite on the level with the van and how they operate. Very sketchy!

After there dramatic return from Europe didn't Liam (twit in a hat) say that 'urban vanlife' had showed/taught him how to service the van. They just want everything for free and as little effect (on their part} as possible.
I do wonder how he gets on with Janines mum, I know if he sat in my house with that hat on all the time, I would not be impressed. Hubby always says if this was our daughter he would have to explain she was looking a prat.
