Thevitamindproject - Africa

Someone in this thread made the fab suggestion of a rave thread (thank you!) so I’ve made one, these conversations are really interesting but I know that I feel bad for participating as I’m always of the other opinion! So this is here if anyone wants it: ❤️

I feel like it needed this response though?

Yes, she was wrong. But also, Africa’s unwillingness to engage stank of “I’m right, you’re wrong, and that’s the end of it”. I know she doesn’t *have to*, but if she’s discussing this type of thing and opening the dialogue, surely she she expect the need to discuss?

But why did it though? Her page is public but it’s still her call how she interacts with commenters, and what direction she takes discussion.

I don’t think she’s saying ‘‘I’m right you’re wrong’’. She has been very critical of the prison system in the past. I think she’s saying ‘’this is derailing to my political cause’’.

I do think from the world of TikTok that we are now in, even over on Instagram that people use the FYP page a lot more. I see a lot more stuff now of people I dont follow. So the chances are she’s going to get a lot of new people watching her stories who haven’t followed her for a long time and understand her boundaries. I feel if it were me and there were knobhead comments I just wouldn’t engage? she doesn’t need to jump down everyone’s throat. I think people are also much quicker to speak back these days too!

I feel like I want to post on both. I agree with almost everything she says, she is rarely in the wrong but she's sooooo preachy it winds me up

You’re right just a small difference. 😆

Any idea why? Have I missed stuff in her stories?

She hasn’t said anything about selling. We noticed because the house was recognisable enough.

Lowered the price by £100k!!! I said that adding a quarter mil to their purchase price was crazy. I do wonder why she won’t just use a normal, local estate agent. Last one was an ‘exclusive’ ‘bespoke’ one. New one is in London. I assume because locals can’t/won’t pay for it and she wants a DFL to buy it (and continue to gentrify the area).

My DFL friend moved there too around 3-4 years ago. He bought a 4 bedroom house for 260k. The cheapest 4 bedroom house listed in that area today is still £269k. That’s why I always thought they would struggle with the price they were originally asking for.

This house is also for sale in their area , has a similar vibe but is a 6bed and 50k cheaper.

Miles & Barr was the previous agent.

For what Africa is asking I would want a massive dirty kitchen extension with an obnoxious folding door! All the rooms have been plastered so at least someone can walk in and make it look a bit less dreary! I get it, it’s her taste, but she is the 1% - lovely for her posed insta pics but I want to feel comfortable in my house and sorry but that isn’t giving inviting vibes.

Listened to the first two episodes, said her youngest daughter has autism, her husband isn't a corporate person but he needed to take the job so allows her to be creative with her job, hasnt spoken about moving but that the second guest helped her with the kitchen design and layout

Said in an ideal world her and her husband would be freelance creatives but they need the stability of income and that they wouldn't mind if they ever needed to rent again

Kind of hinted that being a freelancer shes learned to budget and it gives her anxiety buying things or going on holiday in case they need the money foor family to travel again for whatever reason

So she might have paid for the bulk of flight tickets for family to attend her fathers funeral it seems

But again, this is what I've taken from two episodes

Has anyone been listening to the podcasts?

I used to love her stories but I’m not sure she’s in love with any of this? Feels very much like she’s doing insta/podcast to make money which is absolutely fine but it doesn’t sound as authentic as she once was?

I want to, but have been putting off listening purely as I assumed it’s the sort of thing that would require concentration on just that to follow but it doesn’t sound if that’s the case?

I like working people talking about money, especially first gen professionals/homeowners.

Podcasts In general feel very 2019.

How many siblings does Africa have? Think it was mentioned previously it was around 15. With the poodle co founder she said she had the same number as her. Kiera is 1/13.

I didn’t expect her to mention her daughter’s autism. She also revealed that her grandmother had been in a fire, which is how she became deaf. That her mother was taken into foster care with her 3 siblings as she couldn’t look after them soon after.

Are all the parasocial posts all just about tattle? She mentioned previously that she had a "scare" after someone made it physical which coincided with the start of this thread. Was this people coming up to her in wetherspoons?

She is also just posting old clothing content she has posted previously.

Wonder when she will mention selling her house and her book.
