The Undoing - HBO & Sky Atlantic

Posting as a spoiler in case people haven't seen the finale.

So it looks like we were all way off with our theories. I pretty much suspected everyone except Hugh Grant. I thought that was just too obvious and was expecting a big twist! I did like how Nicole got him in court!
I thought it was a bit of a cop out and was disappointed 😞 was expecting more of a twist. Found it all a bit meh

It went the same as most dramas on TV these days, first episode looked very promising, second was ok, but it went downhill from there. NK was so wooden, most of her script must have just read 'Grace - exhales loudly'. It became unconvincing very quickly, the speed at which it went to court, the kids in court, the helicopter/bridge scene was just weird. HG worked hard to show another side to his acting but it was a struggle against a bad script. The kid who played Henry shone the most.

Really a small point, but in the court scene, I think episode 5, when they first showed the pictures of the murder scene and her head smashed in, with children present in court, the prosecutor didn't even warn the gathered public, even the parents with the two kids that they were about to show the disturbing images. I can't honestly believe that a decent lawyer wouldn't have a courtesy of pre-warning them showing the images. Made the prosecutor's looks cold to me.

The whole thing just ended up a big let down in the end.

I think it was all about Hughe’s acting.

And how charming, charismatic sociopaths can really go the distance on doing as they please. The evidence was all there and yet the audience was manipulated into thinking it mightn’t be him. Good stuff.

I was hoping it wouldn’t turn out to be, I don’t know, the maid. I hate it when that tit goes down.

Hated Grace’s green coat. So social worker/ drama teacher. Prefer a bit of viscous NYC tailoring ...but I get it was to convey her touchy, feely profession.

what was the deal with Grace's mate, the blond lady? I thought she was involved tbh!
I reckon she was the other woman he had an affair with, something about the way she falls over herself trying to help grace, and in the first episode saying ‘it’s always men’ as if she hates them, I just get the feeling she was screwed over by him too, maybe that’s why she helped grace so much at the end!

Hugh Grant was good in this, definitely showed a different side to the bumbling/charming Englishman that he normally plays.
Donald Sutherland was very good, he played against type in that he wasn't a complete creep (which no-one does better).
His scene with the principal was great because he was able to let loose the bastard within.

Nicole Kidman was a lot better in Big Little Lies, even though the characters were similar
