I'm from Aus and the location choice puzzles me too!

Firstly because we have far nicer hotels and grand houses in pretty rural locations. But also because I think you're right that something by a beach would be so nice (and Australia has plenty of beaches, I'd suggest the production team just rents out a resort on an Island on the Barrier Reef!)

Or on Australian Survivor they've done some series in Outback Queensland (the pic below is from the Brains v Brawn series I think). The outback at night can feel very eerie when you're not used to it which they could really lean in to.

I think it could be too close to a Survivor setting if they did it by the beach. Maybe they wanted to make it stand alone without comparison?

I started watching S2 of the Australian one last night....

I'm not keen on Roger as the host. I like him as an actor and have seen him in a few tv shows which i enjoyed but he just doesnt have what Claudia has for the traitors.

I found Roger quite easy on the eye. I don't know him other than from this show.

I've just started the US Traitors and I have to say I am LOVING Alan Cummings, he is so OTT and very amusing. Totally different to Our Claud.

I can't speak Danish but I will be watching that version next because I don't quite know what life holds for me with no Traitors to watch. I'm totally fixated with it!

I'm so glad Mollie and Anna had a night out together and just did a quick story to shut people up.

I can't imagine what it must be like to have people constantly asking if you are having an affair with someone else's boyfriend or muppet presenters straight out asking so is there a romance when its very clear that both sides are in long term relationships .

I think Harry is on Loose Women today and I'd put money on one of those god awful hag presenters asking if there's anything going on with Mollie then two seconds later asking about his girlfriend,
like youve just basically implied he cheated but then you want to chat about his Mrs !
Honestly Ive had so much second hand rage this week 😂

I know what you mean, but I don’t get a good vibe from that Anna, think it’s her OTT/cringey videos, bet she defo wears the trousers 😂
I don’t know much about her brothers, just the names, but is Conor ill? His face looks a little… different?!

I don’t think anything did happen with Mollie, but I do wish they had both been single and it was a love story 🤣🤣

I genuinely cannot stand Anna or any of the Maynards tbh.

I'm pleased for Mollie because to keep being asked if you're secretly in love with someone else's boyfriend is horrible,
even grown ass male radio DJ's have put her on the spot, so both women together may just make people leave her alone 🙁

Harry has said in an interview yesterday that he's a hopeless romantic and loves love but your so right about Anna in comparison shes just look constantly on one .

Ah yes I’m pleased for Mollie too, she’s just seems super lovely. The outing just gives me woman marking her territory vibes from Anna, fair enough I guess 😂

I'm so late replying but wanted to say that when I said something was "off" about Harry, I wasn't suggesting that he shouldn't have won or that I begrudge him having a rich girlfriend or any of the other responses. I'm just saying that there is no way that he is just a rando who applied to be on a TV show and won it. The Traitors, like all TV shows these days, has producers who will scout people to be part of the show. You could see how heavily edited and produced this programme was from the off and there is no way that Harry, who just happens to have a girlfriend with a big social media following and a previous role with the BBC, wasn't scouted to be on this programme. I suspect other stuff was done to engineer such a dramatic final too. Its just how television works these days!

I saw on Reddit that he confirmed he was scouted. But I expect a lot of the cast were, definitely Paul and Mollie I reckon.

For some reason, the people in Traitors seem to be really forgetful pretty much straight away. I could only really remember a few from last year and realised I had already forgotten the first batch from this series when I saw them in the audience for Uncloaked.

Maybe it's because it's so intense when it's on but I really think it's yesterday's news now. Brilliant TV when it's on, especially for January, but I think people have moved on now so they'll struggle to drag much further exposure out of it.

I do know as with anything where money is involved in prize form if you have a connection to anyone who works for the BBC that would have to be declared and then looked into thoroughly or the beeb can land in a lot of trouble (usually you can't enter things) so a presenters partner winning could of gone against him .
Obviously I'm sure it's all been verified as legit not suggesting anything dodgy

I think really they just cast people from varied backgrounds and different sources who will make great telly and the rest is in the edit as you say.

Let's face it there are certain types of people who want to be on TV, there are certain types who are real reality TV junkies. Paul had been on TV before, Ross and Diane both have connections too.

Lots of us have absolutely no desire to do that kind of thing, so that narrows down the available crowd.

I once saw a bloke on Place in the Sun who I recognised from other shows, both with and without a girlfriend. He had no intention of buying a home abroad, he just wanted to be on TV again, and again, and again.

Ironically, in this instance, Mollie and Harry are much more famous to me, than Harry's girlfriend and her famous brothers. I didn't know any of them at all. When I looked up one brother he turned out to be a You Tuber I'd never heard of who was in the jungle for a couple of days before he was 'withdrawn' from the competition because of comments he'd made on social media in the past.

Yeah- give it a few months and the exposure will be onto something else. Most people became interested in them because of the show- they’ll engage with their social media which can be edited for max engagement after the show ie if you’re funny on the show, be funny on socials, if youre on there for being attractive, post cute photos

I’m sure they’re all nice people but they’re just random people at the end of the day. The interest was only there for the show and it’s if they can sustain that outside of the media

The only way they’ll get attention is by either -

1. Get brand deals which to make real money from and not just here’s some freebies you need more than 100k odd. At absolute max, they’d maybe be able to go part time for a bit whilst there’s max exposure on them but nothing substantial unless anything massively takes off.

2. Clickbaiting personal life to drag out the interest. Example- the one who was engaged could clickbait her picking a dress, hen do, and so on but eventually people will just either think they’re milking the attention and that it’s odd and switch off or they won’t care.

3. Take any offer that comes along means you’ll get a lot of people going “oh its that person” and not caring.

I find the whole “Everyone will be famous for fifteen minutes” concept so interesting because it’s how you cope with it after. I could not cope with how some of them get people in their comments writing stuff like “omg i love you, you’re my favourite person xoxoxo” - that would really mess with my head cause I’d always think they only wanna be my mate cause I was on the tele. Like if I weren’t I’d just be some random- I probably would not pass the psych test to get on (if they have one) 🤣

I can't imagine what any psych test involves considering John from S1 got approved to be on the show. I've only recently read about the unprovoked assaults he carried out on a waiter & waitress last year - what a nasty piece of work. A Psycho Test would be more appropriate. The same goes for the billy bigshot in Aus S2 who makes Paul look like a shy, retiring wallflower. 😬
