How did he meet his wealthy famous girlfriend? Something feels a bit off about this....
 
Before his brothers insta went private he looked like he wasn’t short of a few bob, but it was mainly holidays. I would imagine his parents are not wealthy if he shared a room with his younger brother. I wonder if his girlfriend makes him feel a bit inadequate as can imagine her family aren’t short of a few bob, which has spurred him on to do all this. Good on him though I say, he’s definitely been successful in his aim so far.

Since when were game shows 'means tested'?

"Oh #### deserved to win because Harry's GF has a rich family."

Firstly, the person who plays the game the best deserves to win - IMHO that was Harry.

Secondly, how many other Quiz shows etc. do you ever watch and think "oh they don't deserve that prize money, because they've got an expensive watch on"? Probably none.
 
He was probably comfortable or OK for money but not wealthy, a bit like a lot of people. I’m sure his girlfriends family are rich and he probably lives with her and they go on holidays together. If it was his GF or one of her brothers that went on the show, yeah that would kind of defeat the purpose as it’s meant to be normal people and making it influencers would make the show unbearable and completely ruin it beyond any doubt.

It’s not really fair to suggest Harry is undeserving because his girlfriend is rich. He played the game well and ultimately that’s what wins it.
 
I thought it was more that he lied about not being well-off at all i.e saying he just wanted to treat his family to a dinner.

I agree. Who cares? This is why I'm not a massive fan of the sob stories in the show or the media coverage of contestants. Both unavoidable I know and personal preference.
I just want to be entertained and not have to bring morality into who 'deserved' the money. Harry is young and a bit blingy. But he won fair and square and good for him.

Yeah I feel the exact same towards him too, all this crap about he has a rich girlfriend ....... and ?

He's his own person first and foremost.

He wants to get his own place he said that at the dinner party on the show, he wants to put down roots after years of tours in the army.

He won 95K.
where I live at a push you could buy a very basic one bedroom flat for that.

Why on earth is anyone begrudging a 23 year old man getting on the property ladder (or treating his family or going on a holiday) 🙁
 
I also think the reaction would be different if Harry hadn’t been chosen as a Traitor and had won the same money as a ‘Fateful’ (;)). We are societally conditioned to support the good guys and want the bad guys to lose, so I think there is a degree of the backlash that he won by unfair means just by being chosen in the game and playing it well…
