This is how much effort they put into making the guest bed. Don't bother finishing tucking the sheet in or anything. Makes me wonder if anyone in that household ever bothers making any of the beds. Also that's only a full-sized bed. Should be nice and tight for 2 adults. I'd rather just stay in a hotel but they likely need "friends" to watch the spawn for a few days while they go do whatever the duck it is.

The “friends” are really just the nanny. She can spend the night when they’re coming home late or maybe they might even do a trip alone. This isn’t for actual houseguests.

Omg that crossed my mind too! Except I would’ve grabbed a trash bag and started throwing tit away right in front of her! There’s no use in going through it especially if it hasn’t been touched in years.
when she was talking about setting a goal of not keeping everything, it seemed like she was on the verge of tears.
 
She’s definitely a hoarder. Keeping the clothes that are probably 100 lbs away from fitting again is absolutely bonkers. She’s not selling them. She’s been talking about that for years. Donate them already. The Dashboard Confessional poster? Trash. Let’s not forget the storage unit which is totally insane when you think about the size of their home.

I'm not going to lie but it took me quite a while to 'let go' of alot of the stuff I have collected over the years. I had stuff from my parents and from when my children were small. But one day it occurred to me that I could keep some but for the most part alot of it could be used by someone who really needed it. Sitting in my garage in boxes was not helping anyone. So I donated it and never ever regretted my decision. Just my 1/2 cents worth.

This is a masterpiece. Ugh I really don't know how she goes around with her arms and shoulders uncovered like that. I'm about as pale as she is and I really pretty much consider summer my vampire era because I do not want to burn or get any more sun damage than I have.

Same. Been going through stuff lately and I bagged up about five large trash bags of clothes to drop off and I'll probably go back through my closet again in the next few months.

My dad has some hoarding tendencies an it drives me nuts an I think it's the reason I've ended up the complete opposite, he has kept so much stuff an it's all in boxes in the attic, I've already said to him that he'd be as well getting it checked an sold an enjoy the money before it's too late (it's all mostly jewelry, ornaments, tea sets, silver gifts etc from generations past in the family) because me an my brother have 0 intentions on keeping at least 95% of it, we have no where to put it, an no where to store it an am not having boxes piled up in rooms just for the sheer fact he expects us to keep passing it down, because at some point someone along the line is going to get rid of it

Tim an Jen would be as well getting things sorted the now while the kids are young before they hit teens an start to deal with it themselves because there's a chance they may end up being the opposite of their hoarding parents
 
Jenn is really like a child.

you know when you’re doing something and they want to help, but they just end up being in the way, and not helping at all.

Also, when your kid isn’t looking and you throw away Lego pieces you keep stepping on.

That’s why during the time lapse she was in and out because I’m sure Tim kept giving her busy work to get her out of the way. Tim, just start throwing stuff away one box/bag at a time.
 
Ditto. Our garage was getting a little out of control. Everything I purge from other rooms ends up in the garage and I got behind on packing it all up. I was actual busy, not gin busy. Finally tackled it yesterday. My donate pile is massive. I may have given up even more stuff because of the inspiration they’ve provided showing their hoarders house.

Your spot on, their hoarder tendencies make my OCD want to clean up and our home is not at all the trash pit of fort pampers.
 
And they are always talking about “fancy” people and things.
maybe they think having a guest room, and saying out loud “we have a guest room” makes them part of the fancy lake Nona bunch.
Never mind the room is in the hallway with all the other rooms, therefore the guest will not get any real privacy.
Most guest rooms are off to themselves, maybe the only room downstairs with an en suite bathroom. This is what happens when you give the wrong people money.
