Crown estate profits increased from £443million to £1.1billion, the treasury benefited from over half a billion extra in their pockets from that to help the NHS and people struggling with food banks, but let’s lead with £45million increase.

The crown estates should belong to the country, not the monarch. How brainwashed are we as a nation to believe that the Windsors are our benevolent benefactors.

It does. When they say it belongs to The Crown it does not belong to the King personally. Buckingham Palace comes under Crown Estates.
Monies that go into Crown Estate from death goes to charity.

William wanted to get rid of their Ivory collection but was not allowed because it comes under Crown Estate.

Where are you getting the half billion figure from? You know they don't pay tax on those figures??!

I no world do the royal family deserve tax payers money when the country is in the state it's in

The government receive the full profits from the crown estates and give 12% back to the RF. The increase in profits benefits the government more than it does Charles.

According to the Crown Estates website it belongs to the sovereign but the sovereign doesn’t have control over it. It should belong to the country.

"The palace, like Windsor Castle, is owned by the reigning monarch in right of the Crown. Occupied royal palaces are not part of the Crown Estate, nor are they the monarch's personal property, unlike Sandringham House and Balmoral Castle.[69] The Government of the United Kingdom is responsible for maintaining the palace in exchange for the profits made by the Crown Estate. "

It belongs to the country.

Maybe it's better that politicians don't have direct access to these things. Boris would have sold them off to the highest bidder probably.

The fact that it isn’t Charles personal property doesn’t negate the fact that the Crown Estates belong to the sovereign. 🙄🙄

The Crown Estate is constituted as a statutory corporation under the Crown Estate Act, 1961 (the 1961 Act). It is a body established in perpetuity under the 1961 Act as a trust estate. Independent of government and the Sovereign, it is overseen by its Commissioners, whose public function is to invest in and manage certain property assets which ultimately belong to the Sovereign (who exercises no control over those assets); and to remit its revenue surplus each year to the Exchequer.”

As would most of the royals if they had direct control over it.

Ha I don’t think Boris would’ve sold them off as he’s a big Royal supporter but Blair for sure. He and his wife were well known anti Royalists. Lots of labour are.

Naughty naughty
I am not surprised. Wiliam very much seems to keep private whatever he can- especially if it could be used against him. The Walses will be a different kind of monarchy when their time comes. More hidden, like HMTQ (which was a master in keeping numbers and emotions concealed) but with more voice into big topics which can be seen as political. I wonder what his „vision“ for the Duchy is. Charles seemed to have taken on the role of benevolent liege Lord. Using it to fund his life very comfortably but also having a long term vision that aligns with current ideas and seems to have taken a personal interest in his tenants. Good and practical aligned. I am sure the fact that he must have realised quickly that he would fill this role for many decades helped.
Wiliam will make two decades max. But I really don’t think he has the same heart and feeling of (old fashioned idealised) duty for it. Maybe he is just milking it. Or maybe he is having a lower profit which would lead to another can of bad press to be opened.

William digs his heels in and does it his way. You cannot tell him advice. He will do things his way: he will not release any information, he probably won't pay tax because why should he, he won't work because why should he, he will do the bare minimum as he always has done all his adult life. I think he will be a very invisible king indeed in all aspects.
