I’m not as anti Meghan as some others are but I feel like it’s been, what, 2 years since they left? Time to let it go.
These two excerpts from the Daily Mail article did make me laugh:

Meghan also said: 'I'm getting back … on Instagram' - with Ms Davies describing 'her eyes alight and devilish'. It comes after she closed all of her social media accounts ahead of her wedding to Harry in 2018. But further down the article, it says: 'Later, Meghan would relay she was no longer sure she would actually return to Instagram.'

And Meghan said she spoke to a Lion King cast member from South Africa in London in 2019 who told her: 'When you married into this family, we rejoiced in the streets the same we did when Mandela was freed from prison.'

I'm the same. I don't like her but I'm not obsessed about her doll babies or anything.

The pair of them are just tiresome at this stage. I want to roll my eyes every time either of them speak.

We get this all the time. Someone knows someone who knows someone and it’s all that The Queen is on her way out. Had similar comments like this well before Philip died.

I’ve read the article and some of it came off a bit weird? View attachment 1537943 qView attachment 1537944 q
And then she gives a brand new backpack to her security detail to give to a homeless man?

she’s gone full David Brent with the describing her guttural sounds line

They are painful. I haven't read the interview but the quotes from it in some of the articles about it are hilarious. Apparently when they toured their new house they saw two Palm trees entwined together at the roots promoting Harry to say 'my love it's us.' Even the cheesiest of romcoms wouldn't have that line.
Someone else said she's gone full on David Brent and it does actually sound like that level of delusion. They should have moved on from bashing the royal family by now. It's all they have to generate interest in them.

Agree. Who cares what they say? But what they say in America when Americans have invited them to do things is wholly their choice. Why do we need to hear about them? There has been an industry that has grown up around them of random Royal Reporters who have crawled out of the woodwork for the first time in many years to tell us what The Queen probably thinks of Meghan, or what her body language signifies or what evil dish she probably had for dinner on Tuesday. As far as I know, she did no publicity for her podcast and announced some things on her Instagram about other things. Even Harry's charity trips were unpublicised but the press found out about them. The press especially the DM rehash story after story about them daily to get other people who don't want to hear about them frothing at the mouth when they read about them, but still read about them. If no one cared about them there would be no traffic on their articles

Oh dear, why oh why are they still going on about their past life in the RF? Is there nothing else but the RF and their children to talk about? Why not talk about your ambitions? What’s next for you? And no- maybe returning to Insta is NOT an interesting next step in life.
And whoever thinks that M marrying into the RF had the same significance as Nelson Mandela getting free needs to stop and really look at the world. If the story wasn’t made up completely, but I can see someone hyper invested saying something like this. Maybe the person would like to speak up? No? I thought so? I really sounds crazy if you read it in black and white.
In the end it’s a big entertainment show. They can say whatever they want it has no impact on the RF in the UK. They face different problems that they need to address (PA, Charles’s charity disaster, the general discussion about money/engagement numbers and working royals….). I wonder if H&M realise that they can say whatever they want- the RF has bigger fish to fry. Even if they “name the racist” as a last ace. So we can all lay back and enjoy this tit show. Let’s see when and if H&M can actually be interesting for something about them and not the RF.

It does generate money. Far more than would be ever given to charity!

It's made me think more seriously about what an unelected HoS means and how it fits with their family because it's starting to feel like you get the whole cymbal bashing, ponies and dogs and their fleas thrown in with the package

Meghan was also saying she would never be able to do the school run in peace which Chris Ship was essentially saying was a load of nonsense.

Photo's on the first day of school and only a cameraman and photographer who share their content. He also said in a later tweet that if anyone takes pictures at any other time the media do not buy it.

Meghan needs to read 'How To make Friends and Influence People' the whole world seems be getting tired of them.

It does feel like the tide is turning against meghan and harry, even former fans are now seeing holes in their stories, and the US media is not quite as warm as it used to be.

Personally when it comes to people and trusting them I look at patterns of behaviour. When someone constantly says stuff that is easily fact checked and found false, I won't trust them. If any of the unprovable things are true, why surround them with so many false stories that are easy to check up on and find to be lies. She must be betting on a gullible American public and these journalists that clearly don't do due diligence in fact checking. It's very easy to find out any members of royal family who are half in and half out (there aren't any), or the taking the kids to school story. It's like the illegal secret wedding from the Oprah interview.

Her style of writing and presenting herself is also so flowery, contrived and insincere you just can't buy into it. I still have doubts over her miscarriage, mainly because the description was like something from a bad romance novel. Nothing ever feels true or authentic. It's like you're always being told a story and fed a romanticised narrative.

I don't believe all the conspiracy theories around them, but I do believe she is a narcissist, or at least she is displaying a lot of narcissist behaviours.

She has even upset the Mandela family and South Africa. The couple go from one PR disaster to another.

We get this all the time. Someone knows someone who knows someone and it’s all that The Queen is on her way out. Had similar comments like this well before Philip died.

I think meghan is stuck in influencer world circa 2016/17 when she had her blog. How she words things, going back on Instagram when tiktok is the big thing now and Instagram popularity seems to be starting to decline with recent criticisms etc. It just feels a bit dated.

Anyone that wants to read the interview with Megan without the paywall: https://web.archive.org/web/2022082.../article/meghan-markle-profile-interview.html

Harry and Meghan seem so detached from reality. Meghan was portrayed as someone that knows what real life is when she arrived in the RF, but the more she talks the less it seems like it. I mean in her first podcast, when she talked about the fire (smoke?) in Archie's nursery in SA, I think parent can relate to her distress to hear that her son could have been in that room. But then complaining that she and Harry had then to go another engagement is so tone-deaf. She thought that was a good way to portray how famous women like her and Serena Williams are under pressure, but guess what, average parents are also having to deal with this kind of pressure from their work. Balancing family life and career is a struggle that all women know too well. Plus, many people waited for them so I can understand why they were asked to go to their engagement.

Then, how in her interview for the Cut, she tries to present Harry and her looking for a home in Montecito like average people dreaming of finding their dream home was completely out of reality. She said they didn't have any income - but yet they managed to secure the purchase of a 15 millions dollar mansion. Yep, being Duke and Duchess of Sussex and having trust funds, do help!
"At first, they’d resisted going to visit. “We didn’t have jobs, so we just were not going to come and see this house. It wasn’t possible. It’s like when I was younger and you’re window shopping — it’s like, I don’t want to go and look at all the things that I can’t afford. That doesn’t feel good.

And the part where her security guard gives a backpack with food on her behalf to teach little Archie about poverty??? Just imagining the whole situation looks completely ridiculous. Is Archie learning to have a help to give to the poor nd stay away?
"At a stoplight, she reaches into the trunk and produces a brand-new black backpack and hands it to her security detail to give to an unhoused man on the corner. They are teaching Archie that some people live in big houses, some in small, and that some are in between homes. They made kits to pass out with water and peanut-butter crackers and granola bars."

They had so much potential. But they just seem to be as detached from reality than the RF and not even aware of it. Plus it's always about them - they wanted privacy but just seems like they can only offer bits about the bitterness about the RF or how charitable people they are to stay relevant. The have a huge platform and could use it much better. I don't any inspirational people talking like them and have nothing to offer than themselves.

I saw on twitter today someone saying Meghan has spent more time moaning about being a working Royal than being an actual working Royal. 🤣

They need to change the narrative and quickly because I do think the tide is turning and people are getting bored of them.
I think I must be odd (no sniggering at the back ) but they really don’t register with me at all. Let them carry on doing whatever it is they want to do. If the likes of the Daily Mail didn’t print upwards of 6 articles every time they opened their mouths, if the usual suspects of Judi James, Dickie Arbiter, Ingrid Seward et all weren’t on retainer for an outraged quote every time they opened their mouths and if people didn’t fall on every article every time they opened their mouths to dissect everything they had said and done there wouldn’t be half so much reporting.

I suppose the short version is don’t click on the likes of the Daily Mail articles and they’ll spend more space on things that do give them the clicks. The clicks and comments drive the coverage.

I haven’t kept up with royal family for a while now but that interview is hilarious. Harry’s vocal eye roll when he mentions his family, the airy fairy language being used, the comparison to nelson mandela, the flexing of how many famous friends she has. Every so often I soften towards her and then she comes out with something like this interview that makes me understand why she annoys me

The media don't help with trying to ignore them, but at the same time if they just shut up and worked there wouldn't be anything to print. For all the protestations they WANT to be talked about and the centre of attention. They keep forcing themselves into everyone's lives. If they really wanted to do good they would get on and work with charities behind the scenes. Plenty of A list celebs do (not that they're Alist).

Also, we generally don't hear about the royals (not since the 90s mess anyway), they tend to get on with their charity work etc. They don't pull focus onto themselves all the time. With meghan and harry it's always about them, how victimised they are etc. They both come across as toddlers having a tantrum because they were told no.

If a family had been so awful to me (as they say they were), I wouldn't keep on talking about them and trying to be part of it. I wouldn't have come to be at the high profile jubilee. Youd Make the clean break and go out and prove yourselves. But they can't because they have no talent or skill to offer the world. He wasn't the brightest stat (and I think has been protected by RF since Diana died), and she was a very minor actress on a moderately successful network show and hardly any one had heard of her.

& considering both sides of their family were supposedly awful to them it’s interesting she only ever speaks about Harry’s very famous family. Never her father that sold pictures and intimate details to the press, or her brother that appeared on celebrity Big Brother in Australia or the sister that has an active law suit against her. I wonder why. Surely when Spotify asked her to do PR for the podcast they expected her to discuss the guests coming on, the range of topics and the overall podcast, not just talk empty words about a family and a country she’s spent more time away from than she spent part of.

The problem they have, is that people are only interested when they do talk about TRF. Every time they go off and do some planet saving or something, no one gives a toss. They get about half a page of news and that's mainly about what Meghan is wearing.

The only thing they have to offer is TRF.

That’s a very good point, hadn’t thought of that before
