god watching BH and their trip to berlin... it is so embarassing how they are so fussy with food etc, you can tell the waiters/waitresses find it really annoying. The only one who isn't really fussy is Erika

I've not watched this episode but love Berlin! They must be mad - I found such variety of food when I was there. Which series and episode number is it, please? Might watch it as it is unlikely I'll be back there anytime soon 😭😭

basically they just refused to eat so many things - imo refusing to eat veal, for example, when you eat meat generally, is a bit hypocrtical

It's really not - unless it's been made clear that the veal is ethical, then traditional veal is crueller than most meat.

I agree they are embarrassing whenever they go abroad though. I don't think most of them realise the service industry doesn't work the same way in Europe/most other countries than it does in America. The menu isn't just a list of suggestions.

Genuine question, how is ethical veal produced? thanks in advance

it does exist, but also there is 0 evidence that any of them eat ethical meat anyway.. saying " I don't eat baby animals..." imo if you eat meat you have a duty to it all

I don't know about other countries, but if you buy British rose veal, my understanding is that it's basically just young beef and a byproduct of the dairy industry - there's no animal cruelty involved that is different from any other meat production (eg. restricted diets that are traditionally associated with veal calves) and therefore it's considered ethical. But because farming methods and ethical standards for veal differ so much from country to country, you would have to take each place on a case by case basis. I think it's generally more ethical in western Europe than USA for example, but happy to be corrected if that's not correct.
