I don't know about other countries, but if you buy British rose veal, my understanding is that it's basically just young beef and a byproduct of the dairy industry - there's no animal cruelty involved that is different from any other meat production (eg. restricted diets that are traditionally associated with veal calves) and therefore it's considered ethical. But because farming methods and ethical standards for veal differ so much from country to country, you would have to take each place on a case by case basis. I think it's generally more ethical in western Europe than USA for example, but happy to be corrected if that's not correct.
That's really interesting thank you.

It's really not - unless it's been made clear that the veal is ethical, then traditional veal is crueller than most meat.

I agree they are embarrassing whenever they go abroad though. I don't think most of them realise the service industry doesn't work the same way in Europe/most other countries than it does in America. The menu isn't just a list of suggestions.

Omg yes when the OC go to Ireland. And Iceland. In fact anywhere that's outside their community bubble 😬

My mum is like that about veal. But I'm vegan so she doesn't even get into it with me 🙊

yeah being Irish, the ireland episode was a dream come true - when they start the brawl in Brown Thomas (our highest end dept store) - seeing the whole thing play out in a place I have been on so many occasions - just priceless, totally priceless. will have to rewatch that soon

I also love Dublin (try to visit the Hairy Lemon when I go) and was horrified by that episode. They were in some classy places and they acted like utter trash. The hotel they were staying in must have been glad to see the back of them.

It also annoys me when they speak to non native speakers and say things like "whoop it up" or whatever, and you can see the staff have no idea what they are saying, understandably, none of them have any cultural awareness or sensitivity. I can't imagine how other guests paying a lot of money for restaurants hotels etc must react, I would 100% complain. I wouldn't be surprised if they have been banned from places tbh

Or when they demand the staff help them unpack and talk down to them 😡 patronising old hags

I always found Ramona so strange as she apparently had a quite poor childhood but she is the most spoilt and entitled now imo
Weird isn’t it? What about when Dorinda demanded a random dude in the restaurant to take her coat, and he didn’t even bleeping work there.
I never got to see that series reunion and wondered if Andy gave her well deserved tit for that.
