For a man who doesn't smoke with no job, no kids, money, all the time in the world to exercise and eat well he looks just like some poor wretch you'd see going from pub to bookies and back on a weekday. He looks like someone wrecked from hard living, surviving on booze and luncheon roll sandwiches. I know he probably drinks buckets but Pouty looks much older than his years too.

I bet they didn't even save much after the rental cost, one way fee, tolls (it'll be about $25 just in tolls from Newark to D.C.) and gas!

I just don't believe them about the train tickets from NYC to DC. The price may have gone up but not enough to to justify multiple trains to get a rental and then tolls and metro from the airport. Maybe they needed to make a liquor store stop before they got to Washington? Pennywise dollar foolish.

By the time they'd messed around getting two trains, a monorail monorail monorail (piss off), queued to pick up the car, driven to another airport and got an Uber actually into D.C. it probably was a whole day

I looked up NYC to Washington DC. Booking a few weeks ahead, fares started at $20 each. A few hundred if you did Club! Their palava of getting to airport, etc, allegedly paying for a tank of fuel but only using half, plus all the other add ons, then having to make the drive itself must surely have cost more, a lot more. Though I am forgetting Red Eyed Rover is a travel agent, so he knows best.
