It was the wording though... Only Germany speak German and only France speak French 😂🇩🇪🇫🇷
Needs to speak Spanish for all those Benidorm holidays theyll be on when the money stops flowing. No offence to anyone who likes Benidorm

Just watched that section of the blog and I'll actually give Sarah some credit for seeming like she'd been listening to Izzy and going through her choices with her. She's right not to let her drop a subject she has a passion and apparently a talent for, just because one piece of coursework is off putting (and I for one would love to see that[ Shakespeare footage 😂). Plus she knew what subjects she wasn't keen on and wasn't pushed to do them, which is the right way to do it. I had friends who were doing subjects just because their parents wanted them to, even though they hated it or weren't good at it, and nobody benefits.

I can't really speak for GCSEs because I'm familiar with the Scottish system (and the old Standard Grade one to boot) but as someone who chose to do Physics purely because i couldn't do Chemistry (because my school was more restrictive with its columns), it was basically just Undercover Maths - which wasn't my strong suit - and I just struggled and hated it. If the same goes for Isabelle then this Learning Support might help her not get too overwhelmed.

My school did the 'how to revise/sit exams' during our compulsory Personal & Social Education period so she might find it a tad redundant - but like Isabelle said, she can always change it if she feels it's not a good fit for her 🤷
Do you mean a talent for drama? No offence but her blog acting shouldn’t be put on her cv it’s awful

What does COPPA do to channels aimed at children? Do they demonetise them or take off the channel?
Isn't it mainly children who went to their meets? Isn't that where Chris met his child fan victims?
I think it should be illegal for so many families to give up working and film their children's private lives, to make money for the adults. Children aren't old enough to consent to their lives being told to the world.
Makes me think of Victorian times when children had to earn money.

Personally I don’t think Coppa is going to work if creators can just set for mixed audience. I’ve seen many channels with present opening and very child targeted material yet are not set for YT kids.
They need to start dishing out fines.

Is that new for this year? As my son got an A* in history last year. They don’t grade it that way anymore as they do numbers but you can still work out the letter grade through the number

Yea most university’s won’t except grades in ‘soft’ subjects like drama and business. They want hard subjects like history and science etc. I found often those most educationally struggling would go for the easy options and then a few who really wanted to go to act etc

This is just not true at all. for most unis, it’s based on UCAS points from a-levels not what subject you studied at gcse. Granted if you are wanting to actually study a medicine or science degree then yes, you’d be expected to have those at a level, but GCSEs barely even matter once you start a-levels. Obviously places like oxbridge are more competitive BUT a drama gcse on an oxbridge application wouldn’t mean you’d be sent packing. If a student was wanting to study English literature, having studied theatre a level would really benefit that.

But your GCSEs determine what you can ultimately do at A-level, which would affect the courses you could apply for at uni. And could potentially be detrimental if you want to do a STEM subject at uni if you have e.g. business and 2 stem subjects as opposed to someone who has 3 stem subjects and the same UCAS points.

You could take gcse drama and still study a science a level as long as you had the basic requirements which is generally English maths and a double science I presume. Those are still compulsory right?
So I don’t see how other subjects would impact that if you’re doing those anyway. Scaring kids out of picking subjects they enjoy is just silly I despise this whole “mickey mouse” subject crap. Basing it on GCSEs which kids pick at what, 14? is just silly. A levels are the main road to uni.

GCSEs sound a lot easier than the junior cert (Irish equivalent) we have to do English, Irish, maths, history, geography, pe and religion and choice 4 out of home ec, business, art, music, home ec, science, classics and between French and German as a language is compulsory

History, geography , French and German arent compulsory exam subjects though (though a lot if schools might choose to make them so) and PE isn't an exam at all?

Theres no obligation to take the state exam in all those subjects (bar English, Irish, maths)

I think the minimum is 2 subjects in addition to english, Irish, maths so as little as 5 is acceptable for junior cert if you want (and what some newer schools are doing)

Also it's not comparable cos Alevels are to a higher level than leaving cert.

To be honest when my eldest talked about languages to me I said similar. A lot of countries speak Spanish but not as many speak french and German. When you look at it. Hate to say it as I can’t stand Sarah but I would have to agree with her on that one.
My brother in law is African his native tongue is french I think you’ll be shocked at how many more if you look it up

Is business not a hard subject? An economics degree can get you very far

Learning support no offence intended learning support works for some teens however not ones who attend a top private school. Given the fees if I noticed learning support as a GCSE option I’d be very annoyed.
It is offered only to kids that are struggling as the schools know the grades will be low and truth is that looks very poor in any league tables especially one asking a bloody fortune to get in!
This vlog is quite possibly the worst I’ve seen, mother manipulating her daughter choosing her future for her.
Ok well German only spoke in Germany! Wtf Germany is one of the most advanced countries in the world not to mention the heart of Europe. Spanish spoken everywhere hmm ok Sarah so Spanish Drama Art, Business and learning support. I’m struggling to see a future career on instagram! Maybe a painter who vlogs in some far away country that speaks Spanish, scripted of course yet limited “business”company registered in UK.
I’m sorry but to drop a GCSE to give time on study? Is that not what time management is for revision each night. My son went to a school who insisted on 1 hour revision each night Isabelle is spending an hour making bloody planners! The idea of a planner is to plan! Not design them, cue book sale!
This is your Daughters future dumb idiot not a comment down below session. Should never have be filmed but that said it was scripted so best not waste Sarah’s fab use of her A level.
I noticed Sarah had no clue about levels grades etc. She just said she’s getting As all the time. They don’t work like that now it’s all numbers Isabelle should by now be getting 6-7 at least moving up a level a term that would put her at a 9 top grade by exam time. Private school huge fees a year, Sarah I’d fully expect level 9 ready to move onto 6th form.
These arse wipes should be ashamed of themselves.
German and French not spoken anywhere else WTF lol
She needs Spanish for her traveling life ahead of her cagzy van and everything 😍🤣😱
I’m sorry if I have offended anyone with the learning support I just feel in that school it really should not be an option the school has an entrance exam and expects a certain level of input from students.
I agree with everything you’ve said. But let’s face it the girls go to private school not for a better standard of education, it’s a status thing with Sarah- look what we can afford. She really couldn’t give a 🤬 about their education.

Unless you want to go to Oxbridge, this isn't the case anymore. I don't think subjects should be judged as soft. It depends on how people learn as there are many different learning styles. People who call some subjects 'easy options' are ignorant to the skills involved and how time consuming they really are.
Exactly, and this isn’t me sticking up for them but I did Art as a core part of my GCSE’s, went on to study it at college and Uni and let me tell you there is nothing easy about it, I spent hours upon hours completing course work and learning about art history. And I now have a successful career in it. Not every thing should be about academic topics being most important, if a kid is creative then that should be equally encouraged
