I'm genuinely confused at how she can appear so anxious yet apparently be fantastic at drama. The two don't pair. I'm wondering if this anxious act is her acting for the TV show. We've seen her on that Insta Post being a normal confident teen and she was also a very gobby self assured child in previous vlogs.
It’s probably the pressure her parent put on her to perform. If she gets it wrong they probably lay into her about it. That’s far to much for a teen to deal with. Trying to live up to her parents expectations on camera. I bet she would give anything to just have a normal life with friends and a good routine at home and school.

It was the wording though... Only Germany speak German and only France speak French 😂🇩🇪🇫🇷
Yes I agree that’s a very silly thing to say. Especially as they ‘traveled’ round Europe last summer 😂😂. She is such an ignorant fool she really is

Shouldn’t this be classed as a made for kids vlog? Judging by the comments there are obviously a very lot of younger people writing in response to it!
I would say yes as it’s about a child choosing her GCSEs. What adult is going to interested at that when they have all finished education?

Thanks to @thegreencow for the thread title

Remember if you dare to watch the Creepy and Lazy show use

Also Happy Kiss a Ginger Day.....

I have a penchant for gingers actually but on this one I’ll pass ! 😏

Makes you wonder what he travelled all the way into central Amsterdam for 👀

I was only 100% sure 😑 he went to “ visit “ a friendly female ‘ local ‘ during his skate day 🙄 in Amsterdam !

Imagine Sarah attempting to recite 15 minutes of Shakespeare 😂

FK SAKE !!! Either that’s TOTAL BULLSHIT or she failed because that c*** can’t recite a receipt without fluffing her words , mispronouncing everything and looking and sounding like a halfwit !!! Their kids being slow academically is not just genetic however imo it’s down to taking SO much time off school to go on chavtastic holidays and the extreme lack of good parenting but it doesn’t help matters that their mother is a dunce ! 😏

People (like the Mingies) shouldn't underestimate the usefulness of knowing one language that might not seem the most important language in the world. German can also give you a good handle on Dutch and Scandinavian languages. French links well with Italian (and then Latin if you're also interested in Medicine or Law). The Mingies can't see further than their own snouts.

Plus, if Isabelle is nervous about doing a monologue in drama, she'll be cacking it when she does her SPOKEN element of the Spanish GCSE 🙄

Yes, I agree this vlog is attractive to children. Mine watched it specifically because I told them it was about Isabelle's GCSE options and my youngest is making her choices very soon. I suppose the 13/14+ age makes it fall outside the COPPA threshold, but Creepy is trying his luck.

Learning Support smells fishy to me, I bet it’s a room full of all sorts being supervised by any teacher available. All it does is ease timetabling and allow the school to boast about lower class sizes.

Izzy should have stuck to her guns and chosen a fourth GCSE as most people do. The reality is the really tip universities will look down on her for it. Imagine doing something so young that makes Oxbridge a pipe dream.
I'm American and this whole thing is confusing. So you take a class of tutoring basically. That's a class? Doesn't each grade have a required set of classes mandated to take. Drama would be an elective. So she doesn't have to take a required math class like algebra, geometry or calculus? Business is that math? I'm confused

Isn't Issy still doing 9 GCSE's though, assuming she does individual sciences? I think learning support is in place of a 10th subject and if that were my child, I'd encourage it too. Though I wouldn't choose two soft subjects like drama and business.

Sarah projected onto Issy that entire discussion. I'd put money on Sarah persuading her to do some sort of performing arts degree.

I can't speak for Business, but Drama is far from a soft subject.

Algebra, geometry and calculus is all in one. You would sit a maths calculator and a non calculator paper and coursework would be a percentage of the final grade. Maths, English (language and literature) science (biology, chemistry and physics) are all mandatory subjects. RE is usually mandatory (religious education) then usually you'd pick 3 - 4 aditional subjects.

Eg Maths - 1 grade
Science - 2 grades
English - 2 grades

4 additional subjects. Hope this actually makes sense.

Drama is an optional yes. Maths is essential and covers everything you mention. English is also essential and is split into 2 or 3. Things like art, pe, drama etc are all optimal choices. As is business I believe. Business is not maths no. I’m not quite sure what it fully is as I didn’t take it. I only know that it doesn’t help much towards applying for a levels or university unless you plan to do business a level then a business course at uni. I can’t see Isabelle doing a levels after her GCSEs. She will probably pick a diploma or something easier. And I doubt she will go to uni. She just doesn’t seem to have the mentality for that because her mother and creepy step dad haven’t encouraged it. I would feel very disappointed in myself as a parent if my child was struggling in school due to me taking them out for a holiday all the time. It’s disgusting really. They don’t need all those holidays but most people do need a good education to get on with life later on and get a good job. Sadly Isabelle will probably end up working at Matalan so her greedy mother can get the discount. Nothing wrong in working there it’s money at the end of the day but not what most children aspire to do when they are growing up and not a career.

I mean it’s classed as a soft subject when it comes to university. Most university’s want to see high good grades in core subjects and what they class as ‘hard’ subjects like history, science etc. I know it’s not as easy as all that but compared to some of the subjects it is a bit easier to complete. The amount of people who took it when I was at school just to make up the numbers then never used it again was astounding. Also used to be an easy subject to get an A in.

YT need to start fining these creators for not setting their vids correctly. Then they may not be so keen to try and cheat the system.

There is an American vlogging family my daughter sometimes watches. Their vlogs are so made for kids yet they’re not being set to YT kids. I just hope the system is being slow to catch up.

Is that new for this year? As my son got an A* in history last year. They don’t grade it that way anymore as they do numbers but you can still work out the letter grade through the number

Yea most university’s won’t except grades in ‘soft’ subjects like drama and business. They want hard subjects like history and science etc. I found often those most educationally struggling would go for the easy options and then a few who really wanted to go to act etc

Unless you want to go to Oxbridge, this isn't the case anymore. I don't think subjects should be judged as soft. It depends on how people learn as there are many different learning styles. People who call some subjects 'easy options' are ignorant to the skills involved and how time consuming they really are.

Just watched that section of the blog and I'll actually give Sarah some credit for seeming like she'd been listening to Izzy and going through her choices with her. She's right not to let her drop a subject she has a passion and apparently a talent for, just because one piece of coursework is off putting (and I for one would love to see that[ Shakespeare footage 😂). Plus she knew what subjects she wasn't keen on and wasn't pushed to do them, which is the right way to do it. I had friends who were doing subjects just because their parents wanted them to, even though they hated it or weren't good at it, and nobody benefits.

I can't really speak for GCSEs because I'm familiar with the Scottish system (and the old Standard Grade one to boot) but as someone who chose to do Physics purely because i couldn't do Chemistry (because my school was more restrictive with its columns), it was basically just Undercover Maths - which wasn't my strong suit - and I just struggled and hated it. If the same goes for Isabelle then this Learning Support might help her not get too overwhelmed.

My school did the 'how to revise/sit exams' during our compulsory Personal & Social Education period so she might find it a tad redundant - but like Isabelle said, she can always change it if she feels it's not a good fit for her 🤷

The Gcsc system seems very different to what I’m used to. My daughter has just chosen her subjects for her National 5s, we are in Scotland. We have the core subjects English maths etc and then you must take at least one language, at least one Science and T least one Social subject which is History, geography, modern Studies etc There were 5 columns and one subject chosen in each column and there was not the option of learning support.

We live in Belgium and my kids go to an international school here. They sit Cambridge International GCSE and A Level exams, which are still marked A-E. I know some private schools in the U.K. also use this syllabus, maybe that’s why? On the other hand, as far as I know (you can look up the subjects available online) they don’t offer drama. Overall conclusion, they’re talking tit as usual.

To be fair the film has been universally panned. I’m not surprised they walked out but surely they would have read reviews first?

If it was just Esme wanted to see it they should of waited until it comes out on Google Play etc

i loved it but I danced to it in the 80s so know all the words. Would not have taken Isla or Jace though or even my husband.
