Lurker here (it took me a while to catch up). My take is that enablers don't get a free pass. But my hot take is that I don't count people like Craig, Ryno etc as enablers because they were also victims of Pete. I have no doubt that he victimized all of his employees emotionally and financially, made them scared for their jobs and their livelihood, and made their working lives hell. The one thing I judge them for is staying there for however many years. There are other jobs in the world. It isn't worth walking on eggshells to not piss off your psychotic boss for a decade just to keep the job that comes with a Disneyworld annual pass. Obviously they knew he was a horrible boss and a disgusting shithead of a person, but I don't think they knew about the sexual abuse.
John, on the other hand, is absolutely to blame as an enabler. He's the one person who was at the same level as Pete... co-owner, rich, and one of the people in charge and running the company. He has never seemed scared of Pete. He should have confronted Pete about how he treats employees a very long time ago and demanded change. Apparently all John cares about is Pete pushing clients to Dreams so he and Kevin can live on cruise ships and ABD tours. I don't know where Cory stands in all this but he is the only "higher up" person to speak up who didn't sound like a complete douchebag so I guess that's something.
