Also- we are sociopaths btw…

“People with the condition might seem charming and charismatic at first, at least on the surface, but they generally find it difficult to understand other people’s feelings. They often:

  • break rules or laws
  • behave aggressively or impulsively
  • feel little guilt for harm they cause others
  • use manipulation, deceit, and controlling behavior”

There is a sociopath, but it ain’t us.

Just thinking things through. Say John and Corey knew Pete was a bully of a boss, as he is part-owner/owner of the business what could they actually have done? Other than have a word with him which I imagine would have fallen on deaf ears, legally what could they have done? I don't know much about the business world but it seems it would have been difficult to get rid of the guy.

I don’t know why I had so much trouble finding the new thread…I went through the last pages of thread 7 a couple times and missed it. Hopefully others aren’t having the same issue!

Demi’s words were lovely, and expressed in a way that’s very her. I thought Corey’s latest was also well-written. Hopefully, John has consulted some sort of PR person to help him not have further temper tantrums online…

Deni might mean well but her posts are so try-hard and always a little much that in a way they lack sincerity and preach rather than connect. No thanks.
I notice that, in an effort to mimic Deni’s style, Erica is offering up poems and “deep reflective stylized” prose too.
I agree, plus it’s with a selfie. I followed her when she left, but then came the too many selfies and the posting of her outfits… it feels desperate. And honestly it feels like she trying too hard.

I don't know but especially short-sighted on John's part. These are all technically Dreams Unlimited employees and whatever weird organizational structure they have wouldn't matter in a court of law. Pete is/was a massive liability. John's lucky he still has a company -- will see what the future holds.

I could not quite put my finger on how her words were expressed (and are, in general) but “trying too hard” is exactly it. It is just too… fluffy. I’m sure Pete is hard AF to work for. I’m not discounting anyone’s experiences whatsoever. Her wording is just very off putting to me. And I actually really like her.

I also caught that . . . it is interesting how the person who posted that comment still lurks on this thread #hypocrite

It seems some of the Kool-aid drinkers over on "the other site" want to bury there head in the sand and be done with this.

Lurker here (it took me a while to catch up). My take is that enablers don't get a free pass. But my hot take is that I don't count people like Craig, Ryno etc as enablers because they were also victims of Pete. I have no doubt that he victimized all of his employees emotionally and financially, made them scared for their jobs and their livelihood, and made their working lives hell. The one thing I judge them for is staying there for however many years. There are other jobs in the world. It isn't worth walking on eggshells to not piss off your psychotic boss for a decade just to keep the job that comes with a Disneyworld annual pass. Obviously they knew he was a horrible boss and a disgusting shithead of a person, but I don't think they knew about the sexual abuse.

John, on the other hand, is absolutely to blame as an enabler. He's the one person who was at the same level as Pete... co-owner, rich, and one of the people in charge and running the company. He has never seemed scared of Pete. He should have confronted Pete about how he treats employees a very long time ago and demanded change. Apparently all John cares about is Pete pushing clients to Dreams so he and Kevin can live on cruise ships and ABD tours. I don't know where Cory stands in all this but he is the only "higher up" person to speak up who didn't sound like a complete douchebag so I guess that's something.

I cancelled my Patreon membership last month but went to check if they have changed anything and they haven’t posted since the 7/25 after show and still have Pete’s solo shows listed. They need a big overhaul of their Patreon. Delete all that Pete crap, no need to keep any of his toxicity out there.
I went to the dis message boards to read the official statements, and responses, and one person suggested that they take down all content with Pete in it. That would be a huge hit for them considering that Pete was in a lot of videos. However, it would be emotionally healing for those directly affected by him to see that the company is committed to distancing themselves. From the perspective of the victims, it must be difficult having to see Dreams continue to profit off of the drama that's now circulating. And, I can only assume that a story like this would periodically resurface giving more profit to the company as people dig it up and post it on boards like this as proof. Dreams may just have to take the hit and wipe the slate clean. Crisis management isn't my thing, so there could be other options. I know that The Trackers took down their controversial videos and we all assumed that they were trying to hide it, which they probably were, but it would've looked worse for them if they had left them up. Unfortunately for Dreams, everything with Pete in it is controversial and triggering.

Has Sean been on here lately? He may have gotten a cease and desist.
