I've gone off the idea of Pernon. Not the renovations themselves, which are superb, but that Felicity and Tim plan to use Pernon as a private home. So, this grand old chateau won't benefit the people of France at all. Apart from the craftsmen they currently employ, it won't benefit the locals and once the craftsmen are done, they'll move on to other jobs. I'm sure Tim and Felicity will open their doors once a year in the annual 'come and have a sticky-nose round our house, but stay behind the ropes' event but, the chateau won't stand as a venue of any kind. I like to see a building
used, even if it's as a film set, but they don't plan for that either. There'll be a big sign saying 'private property' on the main gates, and that's that.
