That's not good. He needs to get PMTs for transport though he wouldn't get one for going to the hairdressers. He probably thought it would be a good thing to do without realising just how hard it would be. Know your limitations. I ditched the crutches in just under a week because they really piss me off but I wasn't walking any distances but I was hobbling. Started kiné 1 week after the op and go 3 times a week. Just gentle flexation to start. I'm now on week 3 and am doing a 20 minute warmup on the exercise bike (the first 5 minutes are a killer in trying to get my knee to do a full circle) followed by stretches, tension etc., all interspersed with walking, concentrating on heel, toe. Then finishing with deep ice. About 1 ½ hour total. I can walk up and down stairs now 2 legged. I even got taken to Galaries Lafayette the other day but I got bored and found a chair to sit on while himself shopped himself out! I'm really pleased with the progress though I had no idea what to expect. The surgeon and the kinés say I'm 40 to 50% ahead of the game because I just keep working but not overdoing it. I hope your friend finds the right balance of exercise to rest.No not yet. Friend of our had his done a couple of weeks ago? Mr Spratt bumped into him at the hairdressers, silly sod had walked there with his crutches and was in agony!
