It’s strange as I had a thought to myself last week. What if a contestant identifies as non binary and they/them? I doubt Lord Sugar would entertain that idea 💡 I just wondered how the whole girl/boy team would work 🤷🏻‍♀️

Also another thought (queen of overthinking here!) they didn’t give themselves team names - it must of stopped?

I was howling when that bloke from Superdrug was “It looks like a turd!” 💩 🤣 🧙🏻‍♂️

I think I could see the firing as they don’t like it when someone claims to be an expert/genius at something then doesn’t deliver! 🥴
 
All of the mens team save Aaron said that the toothbrush looked like a turd, but none of them dared bring it up. Aaron fell into the usual trap of "I like it, therefore everyone in the world likes it".
IMO, both Conor and Aaron should have been fired. Aaron for basic incompetence and Conor for being an expert app developer who couldn't develop a decent looking app. It was probably too early in the series for a double firing though.
Oh, from the womens team, who thought of a character of being a disembodied pair of eyeballs and teeth? Total nightmare juice!
 
I think Connor didn’t understand what gender neutral meant. He said he’d do a male and female character and thought that was gender neutral. Then when they could only do one character (I’m not sure they actually had time constraints, I think he’d decided in the car in the way he’d do a male character) instead of it being gender neutral he still picked to do a male wizard! He didn’t grasp the concept of what a gender neutral character could actually look like.
 
It was a bit dull last night in comparison to last week. Both products and Apps were awful, although the girls one was marginally better.

As usual certain characters are being marginalised for being a bit different. Shama by the girls and Navid by the boys.

I suspect that they'll all be made to regret that in time 😃

Also wondering what kind of a world are we in where parents are apparently unable to teach their kids to brush their teeth without a stupid app that records that an electric toothbrush is being shaken about a bit. Where did the last 2000 years of evolution go. If you need this you have FAILED AS A PARENT :ROFLMAO:

I bet Apple would love it for everyone to have to buy their 8 year old kids extra ipads/iphones/tablets to leave in the bathroom by the sink so they can clean their teeth.

Not just that, also his scummy behaviour in the cafe afterwards, his aggressive searching for someone to blame is no way to conduct yourself in business.

Totally agree Kev.
Kids spend too much time looking at computer screens and phones as it is.

Future generations are all going to be morbidly obese lumps hooked up to screens 24/7, totally under the mind control of whoever is calling the shots on social media and unable to even get basic instructions from their parents.
 
I guess it all comes down to execution because, although the girls brush had it's issues and didn't really fit the brief, it was executed well. The boys were just all over the place again.

I think something like a galaxy design on the girls toothbrush would have been cool - a darker colour or mix of colours with less cartoonish stars and planets. Their app just needed a bit more instruction to help it make more sense.

The boys PM should definitely have been fired.
 
You could have easily changed the girls app so that space related things came up as you brushed (would make more sense, no?) like aliens or space stations etc. the boys app was really boring and the PM gave them very little guidance on concept. He’s too defensive the PM and one of those people who thinks they are better than they are who are at best annoying and at worst dangerous within a business. I really think the PM should have gone but judging by the other fellas attitude when he got fired, Alan was right to get rid of him.

I haven’t checked but I feel like the girls team’s always do better on the first couple of tasks when it’s split boys v girls. Sure there’s a thesis there around how our business world is very male dominated and would it be better if it was more female dominated 😏

In fact, why do they split the teams by gender early on? It seems so arbitrary - we mostly work with a roughly equal amount of men and women unless in a career with a massive gender imbalance (e.g. midwifery).

I would imagine the male/female team split will change in the near future, they are bound to eventually have a non binary candidate.

Yes exactly. I was really puzzled that Connor couldn't come up with a gender neutral character. Why didn't he make it an animal with a wand and a silly hat?

Aaron seemed to have a weird Harry Potter fixation and as a father he should have noticed that kids like bright colours not brown. 🙄

I'm only surprised they're not all identifying as gender neutral so they can choose which team they're in 😄
 
NO NO NO I AM RAGING. HOW IS CONOR WITH THE LOVELY IRISH ACCENT AND GLASSES TO BE FIRED? It didn’t matter whether the app was gender neural or not because the tooth brush wasn’t! This series is doing my head in already, even the editing style annoys me. They make out Navid never interjected when he did. I’m in disbelief Conor was the one fired after Aaron literally sat there and DESIGNED that awful toothbrush 😐

Superdrug’s marketing team is on it 😭

Haha I love that but I’m surprised the Apprentice reference isn’t a bit niche- I mean loads of people watch it, but it’s no love island! That background pic looks horrible to anyone who didn’t get it and might not sell the toothbrushes 😂
