I was at the Cork show and it was really good, i thought. Crowd absolutely loved it.
Disclaimer: I do like the Noel's news segment so I didn't mind when that was in the live show. They had a brilliant interview with Gavin James. They also performed some of their non-joke songs, which are really quite good. They also did a cover or too.

What is surprising is actually how good singers they are live. No surprise for JB because he was effectively doing it for a living, but Smacks has a really good voice for someone who never had any training in it. It's one thing to be a good singer in the shower or doing a party piece in the pub it's another to be able to sing well with a band, in key , and not go out of tune

I think the cork show looked better than what the 3arena was tbh. They didn’t really have anyone like Gavin James. Declan Nerney and he only sang one song they didn’t do an interview or anything with him and Leah McCourt (who no one knew).

Yeah I agree, I thought cork was very good. Gavin James was super! I still enjoy listening to the pod and Noel’s news, Maura on the other hand, who obviously is good at her job, just keep her off the pod, her laugh gives me the ick and she’s so full of herself, it’s cringe. Be humble Maura !

Yeah they should definitely keep her behind the scenes. She's not even half as funny as she thinks she is.
The outspoken boss witch persona is unbearable.
 
Just catching on the replies about Smack's dad. Thanks for the info.

I'm not up to date on the podcasts but interesting that came up and he spoke about it. So himself and Abby have different Dads? I guessed as much because of the age gap.

I love how close he is to his Mam too it's so cute. I remember him saying they lived in a small house, i say money was tight enough god help them. And yes haha remember the stories about his Nan over feeding him. I can't remember the quantities but I can't believe what he used to be able to put away! They really have such a lovely bond and loved all the stories of how protective she was of him (And still is). When she lost it with the GAA guy who taunted him about his weight. Mighty woman, loved that story!

I loved the story about the GAA match as well. There was a pod where they got the mothers on for Mother’s Day or something - it was brill.
The only thing that I hate about the pod now is I think they repeat a lot of things. I feel like they go over the same stuff constantly. I do like some of the interviews that they have but there was a stage where they weren’t doing those anymore either. Maybe RTE has taken up a lot of time and they aren’t putting as much work into the pod maybe as they used too? Also, I thought their radio show was supposed to be done from Cahir, why are they always in Donnybrook if that’s the case
 
So are they really just never going to mention the catfish saga ever again? They have hinted a few weeks ago that they’re not done with the story yet and now after gaining a huge following and listenership off the back of it, they’re just never again going to mention the elephant in the room? Not a “we’ve said enough lads we’ll leave it there” or anything? They whipped up this massive frenzy and are just going to now leave it hanging in dead air and never mention it again? Kind of irresponsible tbh. They need to say something to either fully close it off or say there’s more coming later

I don’t think they realised it would blow up as much as it did and with Aoife’s voice note being put out there, I think they’d be afraid of going any further with it because I’d say there could be plenty of stuff that would come out about JB which he wouldn’t want especially if they don’t have a sponsor/permanent contract with RTE.
I think they’re just going to let the whole thing blow over and really and truly, what more else can be really said?
I also think they should have stuck to just telling JB’s story rather than trying to tell everyone else’s because it just stinks of hearsay, gaps, inaccuracies. If he had have just told his own story instead of trying to gain listeners and use it for their own benefit, I think it would have been a lot better. A lot of people that I’ve been talking too of lately have even started to question the whole thing.. I don’t think that would have happened if he just told his own story instead of trying to get chip ins off half the world adding on their own bits here and there

Had a gawk on Mauras Instagram this morning, has she lost weight or is she editing the photos ? Or maybe they’re just from a good angle. Also had a look at the boyfriend.. how in the name of god did she pull him
