Just pass the mic to goujon 🐾

I'm honoured, but don't have the time - according to some people in the know on this thread, I'm too busy running seventeen insta accounts and 4 snapchats simultaneously !

I actually love Noel's news, but I grew up in Tipp so the humour and the mannerisms all hit the mark with me so I find it v funny. Agree if another guy went in it would just get too laddish altogether, it's good to have the female influence there. I'm not like completely against Maura, it's just the "bad witch" persona is wearing a bit thin

They interviewed James Kavanagh once (Maura was not there, possibly out soliciting feedback from lads who didn't come back for seconds) anyway there was a really good rapport between the lads and James, he totally got their humour etc cause he had gone to boarding school down the country, I think he would be a brilliant replacement.
Yes! Their interview with James K was one of my favourites - the 3 of them bounced off each other so well.
Interesting shout. He'd definitely mix it up.

Neil is good but I absolutely think they need a woman or indeed a gay lad to break it up otherwise we'll be tortured with GAA talk and extra long Noel Furlong monologues. Anyone else skip the Noel stuff every week?
I always skip Noels part - It is literally the most unfunny thing ever. I just don't get it.
I wouldn’t throw JB out of bed but I would marry Smacks! He’s a softie & a gent.
Absolutely! Smacks is an absolute gent. Annie is a lucky woman

I don’t find Noels news funny at all. Just not for me. I think rte has defo tamed Noel though, he hasn’t been about in ages

I think RTE will be the ruin of them as well 100%. I don’t really listen to them on the radio now tbh, I do listen to the podcast but recently I’ve found myself fast forwarding tit because they talk about the same thing over and over again. If I hear swingers one more time I’m gonna kill one of them🤣😂

Remember RTE wouldn’t buy FR.Ted. And C4 grabbed it up. I don’t care that it was the 90s and different times. They are just so behind the times still! And if they didn’t spend all their money on shite and paying employees expenses they might actually be able to produce something interesting! TG4 is ahead of them.

TG4 is actually even ahead of them in the likes of GAA Beo - I think the production behind that is far better than the Sunday game!

Has anyone been to their live show? What is the ratio? I'd only be interested in a podcast recording.

Is there more/less of Noel live?
Do they do their god awful kid songs? I've no interest in their music.

I went to their one in Dublin. Noel was quite prominent in it - for me , it went on way too long. And there’s a whole section where they do their music which I was also not interested in 😂 dublin was a bit disappointing they did an interview with a girl from Belfast who is a UFC fighter who no one knew. But they did bring out Declan nerney and he was fantastic🤣🤣

What is the story with Smack's father? I might be putting 2 and 2 together to make 408 here but did anyone else get the vibe his mother brought him up alone? His little sister is much younger too - I feel even bad asking incase it's a sensitive subject but also very curious.

Oh jeez I probably would be best off not going then. Thanks for sharing.
Would hope they'd just do a podcast reporting, I can go to the bar for the Noel bit :P

I always wondered what the story was with his dad as well. Yeah I got that vibe that he was never in the picture but I’m the same very curious. I think his sister is only like 16 or something, there’s a big age gap between them.

That’s the only one I’ve ever been too of their lives and I have to say that I was hugely disappointed. They also spent a lot of time talking about the catfish shite, which I don’t even wanna get into again because if I hear that again I’m also going to punch someone 😂😂 I think they’ve played on that a lot to be honest. The opening of the 3arena gig was all the broadcasters and news articles calling them sexist, mysoginistic etc from the car sticker scandal when they got kicked off the air. And there was all these news articles, tweets etc put on the big screen whilst they came down through the crowd dressed as boxers

He was only talking about his childhood last week - he said his father wasn't around and it was just him and his mam for a long time until his mother met a new partner and had his sister. His grandmother helped a lot in raising him from what I can tell.

Ohh I must have missed this lol yes I think his nan must have, he talks about her loads about fattening him up as a young fella😂

He comes across lovely on the pod. Find him more relatable than Johnny B who I find a bit of a pain in the hole.

He was raised well - him and his mother seem very close. I actually miss when they used to have her on the podcast - she was gas.

His mam is hilarious!!😂 he does seem to love the bones of her and his little sister.

Would have to agree, I think Johnny B would be very hard to put up with listening too all of the time

Love when Smacks calls him out on tit, like in this weeks pod when JB said one of his favourite vegetables was asparagus, Smacks was like ' come on, I've never seen you eat asparagus, you're just trying to be fancy' 😅

I'd say he is the type would live in your pocket from listening to some of the stories. Tight in other words or tidy as my Dad would say 😂
