Probably convinced his mate to do it for free and then convinced the landlord to give them money off the rent because they're improving the property or some other scheme like that.

It’s fair to ask for transparency how much they are paying/ not paying for a product/ service when they’re trying to pedal it to other people. They’re snotty replies imply they’re paying duck all! And don’t like being questioned for that reason. Probably not shelling out a few grand for a garden when pissing and moaning about the price of a gin

Oh I completely agree, when she is saying these are David's friends so obvious they aren't and they are being sly and don't want to put gifted on it, they are all scabby shites and pay for nothing and then moan when they have to buy a drink
