I was just saying this to a friend. Shoehorned touchdown in there and the bridge. Matty makes the heroin/e jokes over Travis

You're also not American. That is a big part of it. They aren't stereotyped as being loud and cringe for nothing. Sorry @QueenBW.

Taylor is used to more subtle British men though so it's prob a backwards adjustment.

It was very much brushed under the carpet too.

The whole thing was so bizarre. Adrenaline was obviously through the roof, such a big occasion and Andy Reid had made some bad calls and hadn't played Travis for those, so I understood his frustration, but how he reacted was so bad.

I dunno.

It’s not the first time he’s been violent/aggressive on the field either, it’s just such a red flag but so many people just brush it away it’s so weird

Taylor mixes muses a huge amount in her music. It makes me laugh when people insist a song is about X. For legal and artistic reasons, she is never going to be totally blunt. It was different when she was in a confirmed relationship with Joe. For example, Dear John has always been argued as for Martin Johnson. John Mayer just stuck his oar in and assumed it was him.

💯. I wouldn't put up with it, luckily I've never had to. I would hope she gave him a fecking bollocking and ultimatum over it.

I just think most people deserve a second-ish chance though. We'll see. Or hopefully there's nothing else to see. If she's genuinely happy (can't call it though), then I wish them well.

All lines that I don't think are about Travis.

Also, this song was on the original TTPD tracklist which she announced early February but was leaked in late January. So she wrote this very Superbowl-metaphor heavy song, recorded it, had it ready for the album in January, for her boyfriend of less than 4 months, before he even won the AFC Championship or Superbowl? 🤡

I think there's an original The Alchemy with the lines above that is about Matty and was supposed to be on the album, but she reworked it after the Superbowl to add in the football references before final pressing.
