💯. I wouldn't put up with it, luckily I've never had to. I would hope she gave him a fecking bollocking and ultimatum over it.

I just think most people deserve a second-ish chance though. We'll see. Or hopefully there's nothing else to see. If she's genuinely happy (can't call it though), then I wish them well.
Taylor looks over all sorts when it comes to men, I’m surprised he didn’t suffer any professional repercussions though… although I have no idea if they just don’t care about that kind of thing in American Football.
As someone who nearly got into a potentially lethal traffic accident due to a hot headed ex, I wouldn’t even give a man a second chance after that. It’s not worth the risk

"Cause the sign on your heart
Said it's still reserved for me"
"That child's play back in school
Is forgiven under my rule"
"He jokes that it's heroin but this time with an "E""

All lines that I don't think are about Travis.

Also, this song was on the original TTPD tracklist which she announced early February but was leaked in late January. So she wrote this very Superbowl-metaphor heavy song, recorded it, had it ready for the album in January, for her boyfriend of less than 4 months, before he even won the AFC Championship or Superbowl? 🤡

I think there's an original The Alchemy with the lines above that is about Matty and was supposed to be on the album, but she reworked it after the Superbowl to add in the football references before final pressing.
New Year's Day is proof Taylor is not opposed to making songs out of piecemeal lyrics. The bridge definitely sounds re-worked to me.

Yeah, sure it was only a “love tap” 🚩🤮
That phrase is the biggest red flag for me. It would have been better if afterwards he said "I lost my temper and it was unforgivable, I should have more respect for Coach and shouldn't have done that, I apologise" etc, but instead he said "You guys saw that? I had to give 'Big Red' a love tap and let him know that we were all here fighting for him no matter what. I just had to tell him I loved him real quick."

Physical violence being excused as an act of love is so irresponsible.

I defo think it’s a mix of the two of them, like some of it is Travis but a lot is Matty

Yep, and she can play it when it's the 87th show and Travis is in attendance as though it's about him, but this is the same woman who got up on stage on the Reputation tour and said "this is a song that has always been about the fans" about Long Live! She is happy to blur the meaning of songs to suit the situation.

I agree entirely.
The whole thing just makes me feel kinda sad.

She's still with him anyway (as far as we know). She obviously has reasons for this. What they are is anyone's guess.
