and I guess it might seem overdramatic but it’s how she feels and also, it wouldn’t make the best song if it didn’t use some dramatic license. TSMWEL is a better title than ‘you were a bit of a prick but oh well’ haha. The same could be said for All Too Well.

The thing about how badly she supposedly treated Tom and Joe is also stuff we are inferring from her own music, her own admissions… as far as I know neither have ever said she did anything wrong 🤷🏻‍♀️ so if we’re saying she treated them so badly then it’s because she has told us that.

She acknowledges how she treated people in songs like getaway car and guilty as sin though - I don’t really see much self reflection there. Treat other people how you would like to be treated and all that. The “I keep my side of the street clean” line from karma seems a bit ironic.

The wrong doings with people like TL and Joe are more timeline overlaps than anything. We can make educated guesses based on that.

Whilst she has creative licence, I think she’s in a huge position of power with her songs though, and the way songs like that weaponise her fan base doesn’t really sit right with me.
 
Honestly I’m so happy the roof is closed here, I don’t enjoy being rained on tbh, also don’t enjoy sun beating down on me, basically I am happy for one week in the year when it’s “nice and mild” otherwise I’m too hot / cold / unhappy 🤣

God the memories of the “this song is about you…” time are just wild, like I feel that was a weird fever dream. I def don’t think that helped their case in introducing their relationship lol.

Don’t worry, if they’re not already back together before the next 1975 album I’m sure Matty will hold his own on a song about her 🤣

But I also think if he were actually mad, it would piss her off more if he never mentioned her again than if he wrote a reply.

However if this guitar sitch is true then who knows what will happen. She could be running through Paris with her dress unbuttoned screaming but daddy I love him right this moment for all we know .

Shame travis isn’t a song writer, imagine the songs he could write 🤣 maybe he’ll just go on a podcast rant and we will hear all of the tea

I do have big concerns about if she does break up with Travis, the media are really gonna portray her as some man eating hussy who broke up the American dream couple 😬

All the football bros will definitely view it as an affront to their masculinity or something. I don’t see it ending well for her (even in an amicable split sitch where he doesn’t say a bad word about her) unless he’s the one who fucks up.

If she does break up with travis to get back with Matty, I hope she at least has enough common sense to not launch it publicly for a good few months.
There’s no way it could ever paint her in a good light and the general public will just view her as a terrible person

She might want to make good use of her London house!
She really has painted herself into a corner with Travis, a bit like she trapped herself with Joe only because Travis has his own huge profile it's now very tricky.
If they aren't going to do happy ever after together then her best hope is when he's back playing football they slowly disentangle and blame their careers.

I don’t even just mean in this scenario though, I mean even if they just break up bc of scheduling or whatever I think she’s going to end up being the villain and it won’t bode well.

Travis just comes across too ‘average American guy’, he’s more accessible and less threatening to the average person.

I reckon the idea of any break up already keeps Tree up at night 🤣

I think if they just have a slow “amicable break up” she’ll be fine. As long as she doesn’t move on too quickly (at least in the public eye)
 
I’m thinking if there WAS any truth to this, it would make better sense (as if there is any sense to this at all) to soft launch Matty again in the UK/Europe where he has a much more positive audience. He will not get anywhere near as hard a time here and I also kinda think after ttpd many fans will shrug their shoulders and just accept that she clearly loves him like crazy. There will be some noise for Trav, but I think the fans will easily forget him as easily as she can take So High School off the set list. I hope if she does move back to Matty, she keeps her relationship private this time. This whole parade with Travis has been out of character even for Taylor.
