Hi all - just found this thread today after being particularly irritated by tiktok swifties. I feel like TTPD is going to have the effect of doubling down on my soft spot for Joe and I don't know why. Maybe it's a reaction to her fans that talk down on him for nothing

I wasn't even a big Joe fan, called him Milquetoast for the majority of their relationship, until a) he cowrote Exile. And b) he acted like a grown up in the whole breakup aftermath and continues to be a gentleman.

I feel you completely, the more her crazy fans go against him for invented nonsense the more I side with him.

Also anytime Travis Kelce somehow intrudes in my life I'm like Joe, miss you, sorry I called you milquetoast.

It’s actually scary the loss of common decency or sense and blindness some people are willing to act with thinking they are defending her or honouring her or something weird?! It’s only going to get worse if Joe ever went public with someone as well, which he’s entitled to do, but I think a storm is coming his way regardless with the album!

i think taylor is one of those people who need closure (probs why i relate to her music so much lol) and joe isn't giving it to her, so she's using TTPD as a way to draw her own conclusions and get it out of her system. imo she wants to move on but needs answers to be able to

Arghhh the varient thing drives me mad! I collect records but I never preordered because I knew this was going to happen. I have fell into her trap and ordered the collecters cd this time though. Thinking I'll be happy with the original vinyl if that's all I can get, and at least this way I have both songs

I swing back and forth about whether or not Joe cares about any of this going on. I feel it must have helped give him better and faster closure in a way, but it must be so strange to look at your ex living a life that is unrecognisable to the one he shared with her.

Taylor won't ever get closure on this relationship if she feels like she has to 'win' it. I just hope TTPD is mature, and that the stans are assuming wrong about how she's going to approach it. I've never thought Taylor crossed lines in her songwriting before, and I hope she doesn't let us down on this one.
