There have also been other articles of queer interpretation of her lyrics/even asking if she's gay recently. Many from big publications who wouldn't want to risk sabotaging their relationship with Taylor for clicks.
 
Lots of major media outlets publish articles about fandom conspiracies. It doesn’t make the conspiracy true lol. All these randoms like “well Rolling Stone would never publish x without Taylor’s team”— have no clue what they’re talking about.

The article wasn’t “Is Taylor Swift gay”, it was an exploration of fan culture. Literally these fans are too deluded to realize the article was just about them and how conspiracies and “theories” around TS flourish and intersect with queer pop culture.

AND it’s not the first time, big outlets published about Kaylor conspiracies way back in 2017. And guess what? Back then, fans swore THAT was a sign too! They swore it. Then of course when nothing came to fruition, they swore it was all coming out with Lover. That never happened. Then it was, oh something was SUPPOSED to happen with Lover but it was thwarted. Then it was all about how ‘Betty’ was a big sign and she was gonna reveal it in a performance. No, she only revealed she wrote it with her boyfriend. And NOW it’s that she’s of course revealing it all with Midnights because, er, well because she didn’t release an advanced single. Yes, that makes total sense and will definitely happen.

But when the album comes out and she doesn’t “announce she’s gay” in it (not sure how that would work anyway) they will once again pivot to something else and claim now that THIS is the time it’s all gonna come out just wait and see!… until… oh wait, no not this time, but now we really know it’s happening!… Still no. And they will never admit they might be wrong and will frankly never stfu about it, and yet when other fans finally snap at them to give it a rest or get help, they act all innocent like ~well we don’t KNOW~ and ~we’re just speculating~.

Frankly I blame some of this on Taylor herself for encouraging this weirdness in her own fandom making people think she’s constantly leaving elusive clues and hints in everything and stoking people’s unchecked mental illness.

There's an argument that there might be some amount of wishful thinking involved, but wishful thinking isn't mental illness.

Taylor's fans are notorious for nitpicking every single thing she does or says in order to find "hidden clues" to the point of delusion, but thinking she might not be straight is too far? When her own stans constantly theorize about her personal life and relationships? It reeks of bi/homophobia and I say this as someone who thinks Taylor is the straightest woman out there.
 
anyone else here getting bored of the sexuality talk ? 🥱 I literally don’t give two hoots who she may or may not have slept with , whether she’s gay straight bi or otherwise . All I care about is her music .

This sexuality chat seems to dominate my FYP on TikTok and now it’s taking over here too ! So dull , literally who cares ?! I doubt we’ll never know the full truth just because of how private she is , so why are people constantly arguing about it ?
 
It’s not about anyone personally thinking she’s gay for whatever reason, you’re free to create your own fantasy or belief in your mind. Rather it’s the continued delusion over the endless clues and hints she’s apparently leaving for everyone, the assurances that there is always some ‘big’ announcement coming because of the latest sign, the 10-parter long novel posts written with ‘proof’ of her many lesbian relationships, the hijacking conversations or discussions by informing everyone of the latest reason why Taylor is in/coming out of the closet or has a beard, the lashing out when it doesn’t go their way, the accusations that certain people in her orbit are lying or are employed by Taylor to pretend to be her bf, the trolling journalists demanding they reveal the truth— all while Taylor actually asked them to stop.

And then of course the exact same rhetoric to try and downplay the delusion— the same phrasing— “just because we think she might be something other than straight”. No girl, the whole conspiracy hinges on her lying about her life, her current and past relationships and on her currently employing a BEARD lol for six entire years, and then outright lying about the long term relationship which she has been public about. But when you point out those actual facts and real people and real relationships, they hide behind the narrative that they’re of course just speaking vaguely about everything and just minding their business. At least own what it is that the whole conspiracy has become and the way it’s constantly circulated.

So yes, it’s textbook delusion, just like the sad Tumblr fangirls who believed Taylor was their real life friend for years because she liked their posts.

Agree.
As much as there are some things that could be taken as hinting that she's gay (much of it is reaching though) she has given us 4 albums with songs blatantly declaring her love songs for Joe.

It's not a case of being homophobic. Taylor may or may not have had relations or relationships with women in the past, but she has never admitted this. She has however admitted being in a relationship with a man for 6 years.
 
Just because you are at this point in your life in a relationship with a man doesnt mean you havent had a girlfriend 🤷‍♀️

This isnt a dig at Taylor btw just there seems to be this phenomona amongst the fans that if you have potentially had a girlfriend any other male partner youve had must be a beard. Which is a bit bi-phobic 🤷‍♀️

Speaking as a bi sexual woman just because I am in a long term relationship with a man does not make my sexuality any less valid.

Taylor owes her sexuality to noone, whether she's straight, bi, pan. Its noones business but her own and speculating on someones sexuality is all sorts of icky.

There is some debate on whether Taylor 'queer baits' and tbh I dont feel comfortable making comment on that.

My view on it, as a bisexual man, is that speculation about public figures' sexuality is fine, but some people (eg the Kaylors, but there's a lot of examples in different fandoms) go far too far with it.

I want to try and listen to it in its entirety before my hairdressers appointment just as a first impressions and then do a proper listen through in the evening where I can analyse it properly
 
What do you think about Taylor submitting Red TV for Grammy consideration?

I actually think it's a little ungracious and sets bad precedent. If a person doesn't win a Grammy, will they re record and hope that the new version does?

It was a decade ago and I feel she never really moved on which is too bad.

Red original is an absolute masterpiece, both the vocals and the production. I don't think Red TV even compares, the production and mixing is off and it almost sounds like she is singing karaoke.
People say the same about Fearless re recording in regards to mixing but I don't think it's as bad.

I would say the bonus songs on Red are the one exception, they are actually good. But I don't think she deserves a Grammy for red tv. If she lost again, I feel like she'd have an actual breakdown... It almost seems risky!
