It literally feels like you are burning money doesn’t it but it smells so good. Sometimes with posh candles I keep the empty container and use to fill with a new home made candle (melting the wax and adding a new wick) so then becomes a ‘display’ candle 😂 so silly isn’t it

That's a $74 candle and she's using it incorrectly. It appears that she didn't even trim the wick before burning it. The flame is way too high and she's probably going to end up with a tunneled candle. It also shouldn't be smoking like that.

She always fucks up the candles. Did you see the horror that was the sentimental one on her bedside table when she was filming the clear out? It's like half of the wick was burned and stuck to the bottom of the jar with soot all over the edges.

Yes!! Just bloody wash it out! She could then put scented tea lights in it. She’s quite grubby over stuff like that.
 
Tanya wasted a lot of money on her beauty line as well don’t forget. She is unlikely to have broken even on that. She should have just collaborated with an established brand, but she knows best…

And why is Jim moaning about their mortgage when he rented another apartment in London just to make his rubbish cocktail content (and spent god knows what on dozens of bottles of expensive designer spirits). That was such a massive waste of money when they had a perfectly good kitchen to film from at home. He was obsessed with the idea of having his own man cave space and his own staff. He was the one wasting money literally paying young women to laugh at his jokes and answer all the emails from brands he never got. Why couldn’t he just go to a work share space and hire a small private office if he really needed to leave the house each day, paying rent on a whole flat was crazy.

It sounds like he blames Tanya for wasting money, but he admitted not long ago that he’s doing loads of work with fashion orgs for free because it’s good to make contacts. Even interns can get minimum wage now. When you’ve got a family to support you go to WORK. You don’t tit about drawing cartoons and posting topless photos, doing nothing. It’s not just money, will he be proud telling his kids when they’re older that he never did anything, just gave up? He’s so lazy. I’ve seen another influencer come up out a small following in recent years doing cocktail content, working her butt off, and now she’s working with major alcohol brands (paid gigs) and on Sunday Brunch or whatever it’s called, the TV show, as their cocktail expert. She took a qualification in it. Jim still thinks getting freebies of booze makes him some kind of cocktail expert.

If I were Sarah I’d be so embarrassed to have a husband content with living off his dwindling savings and moaning in public about how he’s struggling, whilst doing zero work. She thought she was marrying someone with get up and go like Caspar, or someone semi-famous who wouldn’t need to work. Are they really going to live with Sarah’s parents like a couple of lemons whilst he continues being unemployed? What about a pension? Does he not think about the future. He’s lost so many opportunities to move sideways like Caspar and several others did, and work in the entertainment business behind the scenes. He tried and failed to be a writer and a presenter, so what - start a podcast, use your contacts. Become a producer. Work in PR for a fashion brand if you like fashion so much.

Sorry for the rant. Tanya is so lucky to be rid of him. And he wasn’t even a nice lazy guy. So full of himself and putting her down. What is the point of Jim. I love how she’s living the London influencer life and he’s going to sell his house and just live off that money at his in-laws. Just guesting on podcasts where other people make money as he talks about what a loser he is.
 
I've said it before, but Tanya's well shot of the the lizard. She has her flaws, but she was likeable, a bit ditzy and really a homely girl-next-door when she started out. Yes, she had a massive leg-up from Sam and Nic Chapman, but Tanya had something that made people like her content and she started doing well from that.
Jim, otoh, really had nothing going for him. He was an asshole on camera to Tanya most of the time, turned out to be pretty talentless in everything else he did try out and still seems to think he is above regular employment. And he probably is, I don't think, being out of work and qualifications for as long as he has been now, that anyone would want to take him on.

Yeah Tanya has a warmth and comforting vibe that viewers are drawn to and will continue to engage with (not like her peak but she will get still steady views). Jim is weasly, and just got a following because of his sisters and then his wife, I’m surprised he has hung on owning a house in London as long as he has, he must have done well out of the divorce as you know much of their wealth was down to Tanya.

Agree that this applied to Tanya in the past but surely not now? Who finds her begging for freebies for her new house and her scarecrow hair comforting?

The warm persona was just that. A persona she put on. She's not even being that anymore. And at the very beginning she wasn't that either.

Honestly I think she was likely more like Jim than we imagine behind closed doors. I'm glad she's rid of him cause no woman deserves that but she has a reputation for being mean to.fans and friends alike so maybe let's not try to canonize her.

Oh I totally agree it’s a persona I just meant in terms of how she comes across and for people who watched her 10+ years ago there is a nostalgia there. By warm and comforting it’s the vlogmasses, cups of teas, book reviews, get ready with me’s, baking cookies etc. she offered content that you could stick on it the background whilst pottering about.
None of these influencers are nice people really. You have to be pretty self indulged and a narc to get into this business.
There was never anything enjoyable about Jim’s content. I have always found him annoying and snide. I feel like he only got views because of his family and friends being in his videos..

Gotcha, yeah the old content could definitely be very cozy and easy to watch without really watching.

I remember people going crazy over Jim when Tanya initially showed him in some vlogs, saying he was super handsome, etc. I personally cannto unsee how much he looks like a rat but I guess I could understand how tweens would romanticize him when he started appearing and hearing Tanya mention him, etc. But yeah the second he featured more it was pretty obvious he has zero charisma and no one was watching him for himself.

What's annoying is Jim has been doing appearances on Mental Health and Dad podcasts recently. When asked how he got into YT he always completely ignores Tanya's involvement. It was through his sisters. Or Dom from Gleam noticed him. No mention AT ALL that appearing in Tanya's vlogs gave him an instant audience. There is simply no way he'd have had his YT career (such as it was) without her. No way.
 
Maybe weird, but I didn't used to like her that much but I've actually warmed more to her watching how weird and snide Jim and his new wife have been to her since the divorce. Especially seeing as she has totally ignored them publicly haha

I know she has her flaws but I like watching her present her life as so perfect and completely ignoring Jim, while he constantly brings her up and seems to be floundering (if he was actually destitute I'd feel sorry for him, but as it stands he's above average wealthy and would be even more so if he actually would get a job. Instead prefers to complain on podcasts and beg on Instagram)

More evidence that he is more and more like Tanya than we think . She also never admits she got her following from the Chapman sisters. Even when her username was directly derivative of theirs.

I really do think most of these Youtubers are raging narcissists who cannot accept they ar3 not actually special and just got lucky.

It's just nuts for me that someone is paying to hear Tanya Burr discuss books. If she had a guest author I could understand. But can you imagine her hosting a thoughtful book discussion? I cannot.
