He really fumbled the bag post 2012. I think I read on here that Greg was genuinely world class and expected to be a contender for the gold, it wasn’t a fluke/home crowd win. When he won bronze in Rio he actually jumped further than he did in London, I believe. Of course, long jump isn’t one of the major sports so he was lucky to have his win boosted by Jess and Mo’s wins. If he’d played his cards right he could’ve been a mainstay of the BBC coverage with some media training. He’s arguably more successful than many of the former athletes on the presenting team and from an equally niche sport. The likes of Jonathan Edwards, Steve Cram, and Mark Foster have had steady work for decades.
