Survivor UK 2023 BBC One

Why did they not kick out the girls who let go of the weights first?
Why did they go for that dude?
Didn't seem very fair to me.
Still, at least he wasn't wearing a bikini so that's a positive.

He did look like he just gave up and dropped them, so I think I'd have gone for him too tbh.

The original series was not a flop at all, it was very successful. There wasn't another series because the producer of it ended up being convicted of murdering his wife, I think on holiday in Mexico, its on Google and a documentary was made about the murder investigation.
I watched the original in the OO's, the prize was a million pounds as it was on a commercial channel, either ITV or C4. Charlotte Hoborough,a police officer from Wales won the million. The newspapers were full of a sexual relationship between her and a fellow contestant, which her husband was not too happy about.
It was a really good series overall, I was disappointed it did not continue. Pleased that the format of this new BBC series is almost exactly the same.
A female comedian, whose name escapes me, was also one of the original contestants. If you search the old series on ypi tube you will recognise her instantly.

I love the American version of this and knowing that host who is really into it, I just feel Joel is the wrong choice of host here. Every time he speaks I’m expecting a joke or punchline, it needs a bit more seriousness?!

Also agreed with previous posters, this needs to be on every night or it’ll not get the attention it needs. I’m gonna keep watching as it’ll get better as they near a merge.

Yes I like it, but I find Lee really annoying. I wish they had voted him off
I'm Irish so have a level of loyalty to him but he is annoying 🤣 defo has a game plan and is gunning for the win. I don't trust Doug. I can't figure out if he's awkward cos he doesn't like the chat behind people's backs or because he knows he will stab them all in the back the minute he gets the chance 🤔

I really wanted to see them cutting up a jacket potato into teeny tiny portions!

I usually don't really mind Joel but I'm finding his squeaky, excitable voice a bit grating, especially when he's commentating on the challenges.

It's definitely getting better with some tense challenges, but the bbc made a huge mistake scheduling weekly. If you weren't grabbed immediately you probably wouldn't bother waiting a week

They've got survivor in the UK?! Wonder why they decided to give that a go?

The American show has got really crap post covid and trying to be modern. Must try to find the UK one.

I'm surprised that they resurrected the UK version after 20 or so years, especially as it only managed two series before.

It's trashy TV for Sat & Sun evenings in, when I just want something really untaxing. I'm finding it a bit like a poor man's "The Traitors" so far. The immunity challenges are not very creative so I'm just praying that the contestants bring some really devious behaviour to liven things up.

I watched last night then watched the next episode on the iplayer and the twist was quite good.

It’s OK, it’s just I find most of them unlikeable.

Lee is clearly sexist !

It reminds me of Shipwrecked too.

Also these challenges are copied/heavily inspired by the ones that was on the iplayer fitness show earlier this year (survival of the fittest?)

Yeah it's trash for sure and the editing is super manipulative but as you say it's a nice easy watch.

The best challenges are the ones with a couple of medical evacuations 🤫

I guess it's cheap to do as they probably use all the stuff already set up for all the other countries survivors.

Well for those who have watched both this week's episodes

Edit - is spoiler showing? Put a spoiler in but showing as blank
