It’s so sad! I really feel for her.

Given the fact that we are still very much in a pandemic you would’ve thought the bbc would’ve had a “no vote” week at the start to let all of the dancers have a settling in period and give themselves a bit of breathing space as the show went on.

There isn't any vote on the first week the scores carry over to the second week.

Karen's said on her insta that she will be there tmrw, not dancing obviously but will be there in some capacity!

Seeing the pro's all doing their secret Santa like excited kids has really made me smile! 😂 bless them!

At this point they could just line the injured up in their wheelchair and crutches. Damn Strictly really went full on Hunger games this year!

I wish the final could be postponed so that everyone involved could be there, Tilly, Karen, AJ, Kai. I wouldn’t mind waiting on it.

Until when, though? Everyone will have other work lined up after Strictly, there’s no telling how long the injuries will take to heal, the momentum would be lost (for viewers and for the couples), anyone could get covid at any point and have to miss the rescheduled final, and it would cost the bbc a fortune as they’d have to re-contract everyone beyond the terms of their original contract (backstage staff as well as presenters, judges, pros, musicians, etc).

A Strictly final in March 2022, when the tour is done & dusted and AJ’s torn ligaments have healed, holds zero appeal to me 🤷‍♀️

They’ve had a ‘no elimination’ week at the start of the show for years now (since 2009, I think)!

I just don't really think they can do that in terms of bookings, space, staff etc. Plus who knows what the situation is going to be like - it could be postponed for months in the end.
You get 6 free votes in the final!

I think there’s going to be a huge amount of changes next year and I’m sure the producers will have a look at what they can do moving forward - there’s nothing to say this time next year there won’t be a new strain of COVID for everyone to contend with.

I can see why folk would like to postpone the final in the event of an injury but I don’t think that will ever happen. They’ve always been “one bye week then you’re back or out” so how long are you postponing it for - it’s always the week before Christmas so three weeks? Should the other finalists not take on any work or go back to work until after the final?

It’s so unlucky but I think they’re more likely to have a contingency plan to have more than 2 finalists (if possible).

It has been a particularly unlucky year, with Robert’s withdrawal and now AJ’s injury taking them from a four-couple final to a two-couple final.

A five-couple final was pencilled in for last year (meaning Nicola’s withdrawal didn’t have much impact), but if it hadn’t been for Judi and Ugo generously volunteering as cannon fodder by coming back when they were far from fighting fit (and straight from his dad’s funeral, in Ugo’s case, early on), even a five-couple contingency could have ended in two-couple final this year.

Maybe they need to plan for a seven-couple final next year, which allows for a health withdrawal, a mental health crisis, a bereavement, and an injury! 😬

Gutted for AJ and Kai and had Been looking forward to their show dance and Jive. It’s going to be a lot of filler tomorrow night! I like rose and John but am hoping John for the win.

At least we will be able to look forward to Janette and Aljaz dancing, where Mcfurlogh and his Chin will come down from the ceiling on a glittering unicorn with a scan photo stealing the thunder by revealing Janette is pregnant.

I bet the whole way through it was COVID they were thinking of and this is like a sucker punch…it certainly wouldn’t surprise me massively if they did press Judi and Ugo to come back before they were ready - but I’m not sure what they were thinking signing Robert up, judging by what he was saying (btw I’m wondering why he signed up for it too - it sounds like he underestimated exactly how much physical work was involved)

I know! You think they might have learned from Jimmy Tarbuck that Strictly + heart problems = not a good idea 🙄

I suspect Judi very much felt obliged to return when she really wasn’t up to it. She didn’t seem at all well, and I found it quite uncomfortable to watch. I had covid at the same time as her, and even though my symptoms were so mild as to be barely noticeable (versus Judi being bedridden and clearly unwell in her Insta video), I was exhausted for weeks afterwards and I certainly couldn’t have danced on TV (twice!) and gone through all the prep for the show a couple of days after the end of my isolation.

I’d forgotten about Tarby. Especially with COVID being asymptomatic for some, it seemed like Robert took a huge gamble - it certainly explains why he was so withdrawn.

Hope you’re fighting fit now!

I am, thank you! 😘

But having been Covid ‘twins’, I’m totally in awe of Judi pulling herself together for that show - I 100% couldn’t have done it! She’s one strong woman! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

Why don’t you all wait & watch the dancing before declaring where your AJ votes go? And vote for who you actually prefer if your fav is out? AJ fans sound like kids throwing their toys out the pram 🙈😂 how old are you? 12?

I’m gutted for her but I’m not going to have a breakdown about it. I really like Rose & John to be honest. I’ll give one more votes but I’m gona see on the night which way that goes!
